Dear All,
I faced the same problem just a day back, i solved it by removing one RAM of 256MB from my System and continued installation with single 256MB RAM. You can check, its helpful....

You may have a corrupted disk. Try and go back to the place you bought it so they can exchange it. It may also very well be a pirated disk, in that case I can't help..Try ignore error and continue installing.Could be a hardware problem, if you have one avaliable try a different hard drive. Think it could also be the RAM, If possible, try taking a stick out at a time and trying to re-install again.

SIR, MY WINDOWS 7 NOT DETECTING MY SONY CCD-TVR608 HANDYCAM.

only WIndows XP drivers are available for this device :

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=CCDTRV608&SelectOS=7#div_pos_18

try to install the drivers in compatibility mode
right click on setup
go to properties
go to compatibility
set it to win xp sp2
hit ok
run setup as administrator
ignore any error and hit continue anyway during installation
restart pc

if the above trick doesn't work then use the device in VIRTUAL XP MACHINE
us XP MODE or VMWARE..

Xp recovery

You need to download all the drivers installer files from manufacturer website first, and also all the software you want to install automatically with Windows. Then you build a Windows Xp boot CD with all the software setup embedded.

Error code

Apparently the XP Pro CD you are using is pre-SP2, thus causing the error. With XP RTM and SP1, you need to supply the proper SATA drivers for the chipset on the motherboard since there is no built-in support for SATA drives. You can download the drivers from http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/DownloadFile.aspx?catid=1&driverid=2214&areaid=2&LanID=0

During the XP setup you will need to press F6 to install these driver before attempting to copy the XP files to the drive. Or you could make a custom XP CD using the directions at http://maxeasyguide.blogspot.com/2008/04/preparations-for-winxp-installation-cd.html that has these SATA drivers already slipstreamed into the installation procedure.

Or if you know someone who has the WinXP Pro SP2 CD, you could borrow that for the install.

How to install windows xp sp2 on compaq v3239tu

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk.

Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS.

On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings.
On other makes the procedure can be slightly different.

Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see:
