I moved. magic jack says no line when hooked back up

  • Is everything turned on?
  • Is the blue light, inside your Magic Jack dongle, on? (Note that the Magic Jack Plus should have a flashing red and green led as well.) If you use the older model you might need to connect it through a powered hub to ensure the device receives enough power to operate properly?
  • If this is a new installation, is your internet service and computer capable of handling the requirements placed upon them by Magic Jack?
  • Do all your connecting cables appear to be firmly attached?
  • Are you watching Netflix, downloading or streaming files at the same time you are attempting to place a call?
  • If you are using the Magic Jack Plus, does the system report Error 3002?
.
Next, you should ask yourself what recent changes you have made to the computer/Magic Jack software? What recent upgrades have you performed to your hardware? Could this have effected the performance of your Magic Jack?
If your difficulties persist, it is time to divide and conquer. Google a 'you tube' link and watch the video. If you cannot connect to the internet, consult your internet provider for assistance. If the video is choppy, the internet connection might be too slow or bogged down. Perhaps your computer is too slow or requires maintenance. If you cannot hear sound, you might be experiencing problems with your soundcard or sound drivers. You should check Control Panel/Sound and ensure that 'USB internet phone by Tigerjet' is installed.
If the video ran correctly, the next step would be to test your handset and phone cord at another location.
If you prove the handset/phone cord to be correct, you have pinpointed your fault to either the Magic Jack or its software. Contact online support for Magic Jack.

My phone number is 231-609-6011

Some Magic Jack units do not reset themselves when your router loses the upstream connection (even momentarily). In that case, try unplugging the Magic Jack and then reconnecting it to the USB port.

If that doesn't help, check your firewall settings (both on the computer and the router). You may need to force the firewall to allow the Magic Jack to communicate with the wide-area network. (This could involve finding the MAC address of the Magic Jack. Then set the MAC address to a specific IP address in the router or set Port Forwarding in the router administrative pages. See http://zaxa.ca/magicjack-plus-not-working-plugged-directly-in-the-router-solved-english for some specifics.)

Please add a comment with your router make and model for specific information on accessing these settings pages.

I hope this helps.

(my ISP has been having upstream problems since early November. We have to reset some devices daily to correct the "lost network connection" issue due to the down time.)

I have majid jack I want to re new it please help me

Hi Firdouse,
I just had to do this yesterday:)
First you need to login to the Magic Jack account. www.magicjack.com
Go to the (Phone Numbers) tab
In the menu, you will see (View-Renew-Add), select that.
When the Magic Jack Devices screen shows, you will see a column that says (Device Status).
Under that column you will see the date it expires and (Add Years). Select (Add Years).
It will then give you the option to renew your subscription for 1-5 years.
Thanks, Hope this helps.

Magic jack: computer virus took out our computer and now back in action. People can hear me, but I can't hear people on magic jack. help

Hello.

Your router may be blocking outgoing connections from the magic jack. Magic jack works on the following ports UDP 5061, TCP 80 and TCP 443. Look at the documentation on your firewall to open the ports to allow outgoing connections on these ports.

Hope this helps.

At&t wireless router and magic jack setup

It could be the router which is giving you issue. Press and hold the reset button for 30 second and this makes the configuration to go back to its previous settings. The reconfigure the router with a new SSID and security key. Try connecting to the wireless network, the computers will consider it as a new network and will connect without any issues

Can you use majic jack with a lexmark 5600?

No it won't the magic jack works on your computer high speed Internet this model does not even have a modem so if you don't have high speed Internet on your computer you are waisting your time on the magic jack, also for your information magic jack is a rip off it is not the price they quote so I don't recommend it they add charges for every thing you add so the real price come to almost as much as using a cell phone unless you just use it for the 50 states.

Brother mfc-240c cannot send fax using magic jack. Any solution?

I had the same problem with my Brother Mfc-240C.
I had the line connected to the dual jack.

If you are still having problems, then don't use the dual jack. Just connect it straight into the Magic Jack. Here is a link for setting up magic jackl.
