Question about Canon EOS 30D Digital Camera with 18-55mm Lens

1 Answer

Canon 30D My camera sometimes reads "busy" when I am trying to transfer photos from it to my computer. I am not aware of doing anything different when it works and when it reads "busy" and won't transfer anything. I am using the proper cable, trying to follow directions, camera is "on" and cable is properly connected.

Re: canon 30D

This is not a direct solution, but I find that my image transfers are much faster when I pull out the CompactFlash card and put it in a card reader to pull the imagery off.

With respect to the actual problem, try "rebooting" your camera (switch off, then on) and/or reseating the USB connector.

Image transfer

Try restarting your computer or try it on a different computer, "Busy" usually means something is preventing your computer from reading the camera. If that does not help, try calling Radio shack or Staples.

I want to download photos from my canon eos30d onto my mac computer but i dont have the software installed. what do i need to do/ what software do i need? Thanks

If your Mac does not have iPhoto, which is part of iLife from Apple, you can find the software from Canon USA here: 30D Eos

You will have to select the operating system on that page for the proper software

EOS 30D - blue print light then dead

When you disconnected the camera, did you use the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen or did you just yank out the cord?

Canon EOS 30D shuts down when I try to take a photo

The problem that you describe is frequently due to a corrosion buildup that prevents the full power of the batteries from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during the cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinsert them into the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Unable to import photos from Rebel XT to iphoto on mac..."busy"

Try changing the "communication" setting on the camera from "PC Computer" to "PTP"
Menu > Tools2 (wrench/hammer/2) Communication = Print/PTP

Canon 40D upload photos - camera busy -

When you fist connect the camera, the computer performs an initial scan of all the images on the card. This can take a while with slower cards and if there is a lot of images, slower again. Sometimes an error on the card may even slow things down as well. If you manage to get your pictures off the card, try formatting it using the format option in the cameras menu and see if that improves perfomance. Otherwise a better card may be in order.

Canon 20d raw to pc

Have you ever been able to view the pictures on your pc?
Have you got a card reader that can view the card contents externaly from the camera?
I found the Canon software is quite as happy from a card reader as it is reading from the camera. (I have the next model up, 30D.)
Have you tried upgrading your software, or tried using a third party image program to read the raw files?
Over to you!
