i just reset mine as mine would not turn on, i held it for a few seconds ant then turned it on and it came on! but mine is chargint at the moment, but the flashing light is red! i thought it was supposed to be green??? Can anyone help?
After 3 1/2 hours, the battery went dead. I waited a couple of minutes, then plugged it into my computer to see if the battery would charge. It started charging. A few hours later I went back to check on it, and it showed a full battery. I disconnected it from my computer, and turned it on. It came on, but the screen just said "Low Battery". I then plugged it back into my computer, and the screen said "Rebuilding Library". I left it for about a 1/2 hour, and it was done. I unplugged it from my computer, turned it on, and it works now!! Hope this helps out everyone else who has the same problem.
It might just need to be reformatted. If you don't care about deleting and redownloading everything with songs and videos and pictures, too, then reformat it. Just plug the mp3 player into your computer and right click on the icon in the MY COMPUTER window, and click on FORMAT. It should come to a new window and click on start format. I called and spoke with a Sandisk rep on Jan 16 about the "Sansa m240 startup screen" freeze-up problem that so many are experiencing. He said a bad batch was sent out in early December and on those m240's there is "NO POSSIBLE FIX" for that problem, but no plans for a recall. He said he could not discuss what the problem was, but I guess it would be a hardware issue, since a firmware issue could easily be resolved. He said anyone with this problem is requested to call Sandisk and get a MRA number, then return the m240 to Sandisk for a replacement. If you have one that's frozen on the Sansa m240 startup screen (all other freeze-ups can probably be corrected) take it back to your place of purchase or call Sandisk immediately.
