You have to cut the microphone line and put the echo board in between. The INput of the echo board should go to the end that goes to the microphone connector, the OUTput would go to the wire that leads to the CB board.Connect also the B+ and ground. The B+ should go to the switched B+ of the radio while the negative can go to any grounded area.

Good luck and kind regards.

I need to get my Uniden mdh125 radio antenna fixed.

To be honest with the current cost of the radio it would be cheaper to buy a replacement or go to Uniden's web site and check a factory outlet store like the one here Uniden 2 Way Radios Two Way Walkie Talkie Radios Marine Radios CB Radios... and purchase one rather than pay to have it fixed.

Is there anyway to change the frquency of these uniden 2 way radios

Simple answer is no.

These radios were made for the USA where GMRS/FRS is available.
They work on a frequency range of 462-464MHz which in Australia and New Zealand, it is illegal to operate such radios without the apropriate license.

They are UHF commercial band two-way radios, not CB radios.

Note: Be warned that if you operate these radios in ANZ, and you're caught doing so, you will be charged under the radiocommunications violation act, and will be heavily fined and/or imprisoned.

My best advice is to buy a proper 5 watt UHF CB radio/handheld for next to nothing on ebay, and be able to use them legally in ANZ without the need for a license.

Where is the tab to open the battery compartment?

I see you have a Uniden, but what model number, Uniden make numerous Hand Helds as well as CB Radios and Commercial 2-ways.

Without the model number I am only guessing, and that's not helping you.

Please reply with the model number and I'll find the answer for you quickly.

How to put the police channel on my uniden VH038SX-2NB

Hi Shorty,

Uniden UH038sx-2nb, is the make/model.

Unfortunately, what you have is a designated UHF CB radio, that can't be programmed with frequencies outside of the UHF CB band.
Well, not without stuffing the unit up, anyway.

Why would you want to program police frequencies into a 2-way radio anyway, The fact that police are moving or have moved to digital, means you won't hear anything anyway., so why bother?

That's what radio scanners were used for, until the cops found out, and started changing to Digital mode operations.

I really can't see the point of modifying and most likely destroying an otherwise perfectly working radio.

Sorry, I couldn't be more helpful, but that's life.

I am new to the world of cb radio and was very excited when I bought a uniden pc68xl for thirty bucks. I installed I have the ground and the positive post on my battery I've got a ten foot coaxial cable nd...

hi first of all buying a radio for $30 rings alarm bells ! your 1ft antenna will definitely not work on cb band maybe vhf but not cb band ,secondly the solution to your problem is this Match the antenna to your rig you can purchase a fairly cheap or expencive antenna that is entirely up to you but i recommend the Wilson 1000 for mobile use you will also need to purchase a swr /power metre if you are unsure of these items get a friend or someone that knows how to install them properly .My opinion is that you have bought a faulty rig but you can try it with someone whom has a proper matching antenna this will rule out radio problem if not then you may have to get it repaired by a quilified tech.. hope you get it sorted all the best EI5GLB 73

Makes a squlesh sound like a CB radio when monitoring radio or transmitting

GMRS transceivers, yes - like CB radios, have squelch or threshold tuning circuitry. Without it you would be listening to an irritating hissing noise between transmissions, and the radios would not be able to scan. The big difference is that the squelch setting on a CB is adjustable, but it's automatic on GMRS sets.
