Question about Hitachi 53UDX10B 53" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Blue color is now green and oranges are pink

The color on the set is off bad, but I'm not sure of the reason.  The focus and picture are still great, but the color has a very pink hue in the light areas and all things that should be blue are green.  Why is this and can a normal person fix the problem?

The funny thing is that this has been the case for a couple months, but for a few days in the middle, the TV 'magically' fixed itself and the color was fine.  It is now bad.  Perhaps a poor connection?   Please help.

Check the color temp control on monitor. If set for warm picture, that might account for the pink tint you talk about.

Sony KP-53HS30 Projection TV has pink and blue hue w/timer blink

Depending on your TV, you may have a Color Temperature (Color Temp) and/or Hue setting in the menu. Use these options to adjust the picture to the setting that best suits your viewing preference.
If your TV has a Color Temp setting, you will normally have the following options to select from:
  • Cool: Gives the picture a cooler, slightly bluish appearance.
  • Neutral: Gives the picture a neutral, more natural look and appearance.
  • Warm: Gives the picture a warmer, slightly reddish appearance.
If your TV has a Hue setting, follow the appropriate step below to make adjustments:
  1. Move the setting to the right to reduce the reddish appearance.
  2. Move the setting to the left to reduce the greenish appearance.

Everything's magenta!

Check in your printer driver settings "advanced" section, and see what the presets are. if the RGB or CYMK settings have a slider, see if the magenta is set at 100%. If it has a slider, try it at 90%, 80%, etc until you have a less pinkish hue. You can then create a printer profile which will work with the photo paper you are using.

Different photo papers can cause hues like this.
Also, you can remove pink any unpleasant hues with most photo image editors through color correction.

It's possible that you have a contaminated cartridge...especially if it's a refilled tri-color cartridge.

Faded colors

If the picture is dark or messed up too bad, the magic focus will not function, are all the primary colors faded? RED GREEN BLUE? You might have a bad CRT, would call a service man to check out.
