i just purchased an external drive for my toshiba A135-S2386 and it worked for a couple months and out of the blue stopped working, first i thought it was a **** drive, but i tried it in several other systems, another laptop and also a desktop, both different brands. the drive works fine in them. is there any advice? i rly need this drive to work on the laptop and im honestly not computer savvy.

Make sure the usb port you plug the device in is active
Or search on the internet for the most update driver
External hard drives are plug_and_play so you don’t have to format them
