Download The following iso listed
below. It is the latest version of the Kaspersky rescue disk. You need
to burn it to a CD with a program like Imgburn (Which is also FREE like
the iso file). Then you need to boot from the CD and run the scanner.
It should fix you right up.
1. First you need Vista Recovery Disk .iso file. Can be downloaded here: [redacted] 2. Then you probably need image burning program. I prefer CD Burner XP >http://cdburnerxp.se/download.php 3. When you have installed CD Burner XP, start program, choose "Burn ISO image" and browse to Vista Recovery Disk.iso file. 4. When program has finished to burn ISO image, put CD into PC with "boot mgr is missing" problem. 5. Re-start PC, press F2 2-3 times, go into BIOS Setup Utility, choose Boot, move CD/DVD unit up to the first line with F6. Press F10 , choose YES. 6. Click this link to find out what to press when PC boots from CD:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-bootmgr-is-missing-error-while-trying-to-boot-windows-vista/

You need a repair/reset CD, and you may need an USB external drive to read it if yours doesn't work or isn't available. The CD may be obtained by Samsung tech support. For Windows XP and Vista you just select OS installation and hit 'R' for repair.
Alternatively you can note down the name of the missing file, locate and save it on a USB key from a computer with the same OS version, and boot the PC using Universal Boot CD (UBCD). Then just copy the file where it should be. Unless you're short a specific driver or VXD, most other files are drop-in compatible.
If you have a second computer, and a flash key about 1000 MB, or 1 GIG, you can burn a windows ISO to it, but you will need a way to copy the original CD's contents to a ISO, and then to a flash key. Thats all i got. Sorry if it wasn't enough.
you have to re install the copy of the file missing, if you do not re install this file. you wont be able to install windows. you need to re install this file to avoid this messages, you a have a windows installation disc have a copy install to your pc
Hi: Actually this same exact problem happened to me on my PC. And the problem was that something was unplugged or something was wrong with the battery or the inside of your lap-top. If you want to get this fixed I advise you take it to your nearest computer store and they may be able to help you, or just call your computer plan. (ex. Verizon fios, Optimum Online, and exc...
Is this XP?
Do you have the XP cd or the recovery cd's. This needs to be fixed by performing a Windows repair. missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system"means that the OS,XP, is missing an essential file to run.
Or it could mean that your hard drive is failing. Is the hard drive noisey?
