Shut off water supply first. I believe you have to prep the filter in water prior to installing. Follow those instructions. When you take the filter off, simply be careful as you unscrew the holding mechanism and put the new one on just reverse of how you took off the old one.

YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE CAPACITOR ON THE COMPRESSOR.. THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEM,, YOU CAN ORDER AT TVPARTSANDMANUALS. COM THEY HAVE PARTS FOR APPLIANCES.. THEY ALSO HAVE A UNIVERSAL ONE THAT IS EASY TO INSTALL COMES WITH INSTRUCTIONS.

Do you have a GE Thermostat or a Danfoss. It is important because the Danfoss uses a Temperature Control Relay if this is the case the relay contacts maybe stuck closed.

You can install a filter in the incoming 1/4" line leading from the wall to the refrigerator. These can be purchased from Lowe's or Home Depot and come with installation instructions. Be sure to buy the whole new filter system not just a replacement cartridge.

If you have copper water line you will need a tubing cutter to cut the supply line for filter installation. If the line is plastic a sharp blade will do.

There is a relay and protector, these are where the wires attach to the compressor,or rather how the power wires attach to the compressor.You can purchase a 3n1 start kit which has the instructions with it. Be sure to unplug the freezer before touching the wires or attempting to install replacement parts.
