Proview PL926WSi LCD monitor will not power up

I have a Proview PL926WSi LCD monitor that will not power up at all.
Been working fine for over a year then all of a sudden turned itself off and now I cannot power it back on.  There is no power light when it is plugged in, nothing.   At first I thought maybe the power board went out on it and ordered a replacement from Proview parts department.  $65 later and I just tried to plug it in and still not getting anything, no power light , nothing.   Any ideas?

this is so common in lcd monitors, its the power suply board.... most likely a capacitor.. so type a model# into google following the words "power suply" it will probably be close to $50-$60... thats better than buying a new one

hope this helps you

Any monitor will work with any computer provided the correct graphics card driver is installed. When you install Vista and you do not install the graphics driver, Windows will default to Generic VGA driver and you will not get the best resolution that the monitor can display.

Proview monitor PL926WSi Screen goes out after about 5 seconds

Hello Joe,

A red or pink coloration on the screen indicates bad backlight bulbs. They are just like standard fluorescent bulbs just much smaller. When they start failing they light up with a pink color and that will make the screen look pink or red. You can change them but it may not be worth the trouble. You can do a Google search for compact fluorescent tubes and check prices.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Same problem, and solution 1 given here fixed my Proview 900W. A few of the 470uF caps on the power board were oozing dielectric probably due to overheating. Hopefully the replacements will hang in there for a couple more years...

Monitor works on one computer, but not the other

The problem is not your monitor, but the video card on your computer that it doesn't work on. If the video output on your computer is built in, residing near your keyboard / mouse ports, you can purchase another video card to put into your computer and connect your monitor up to that instead. If it attaches to a separate card inside your computer, just replace it. There are three kinds you can get, AGP, PCI, or PCIe. Make sure you get one that will fit inside your computer.
