The yellow light is blinking at all times

We have changed to two cartriges and it still blinking. When I move the print heads by hand to the left it seems that thay get stuck and you hear the geares making a grinding noise.

I have no idea if i only need a cleaning or I must change some defective parts.I must have a diagram how I can take the printer apart and then to re assemble it back again.

Could you please answer my request.

Yeah, I have the exact same problem, just started when I replced the black cartidge this morning. I've tried everything. I get and error message in the printing queue and the documents won't print. Just the left yellow light blinks.

I've tried switching cartiddges, rebooting, tunring on/off. Just that blinking yellow light.

The same as above, only I replaced the color cartridge. Changing them again does not help. No, there are no tapes left on them.

This worked for me, open the lid of the printer, there is a "white band" attached to the 2 printer cartridges, this was "smudgy" with ink, got kitchen paper and cleaned it and used q tips (I normally clean my ears with them) and got rid of the sludge and dust located on the floor underneath the printer cartridges. After that printer is working fine, hope this helps!

Blinking 5 times in orange means print head not detected by the printer. You may try following procedure: remove and reinstall the print head. If the problem not solve find good print head to compare. More information please check below link

Only black and blue will print on test page; yellow and magenta does not. Ink was just replaced.

Did yellow and magenta print OK before the previous cartridges ran out? If so, it looks like your new cartridges are not working properly. Try another yellow and magenta cartridge - you can re-use the previous cartridges if they turn out not to be faulty. If new cartridges don't solve the problem, you can try soaking the print head, in case you have nozzles blocked with dried ink for some reason.

Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves out of its parking position, pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head by hand fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Do not turn the printer on at any stage in this process. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then turn the printer on and try a head clean/nozzle check again. If you get any magenta/yellow ink on the nozzle check, then there is hope! Repeat the head clean/nozzle check process 2 or 3 times, but not more. Leave for 24 hours for any air bubbles to disperse. If nothing, repeat the soak process once more. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Wont print

I had this problem recently with my IP90. Both the black and color heads were clogged. After running the "canned" routines several times to clean the heads and deep clean the heads...still didn't help...here's what I did:

1. open the top lid to have the cartridges that are inserted in the print head move to the middle of the printer.
2. remove both cartridges
3. What is left there is the print head holder. Slightly move it to the right and gently lift the print head lock.
4. Grasp the print head and lift it out of the tank.
5. Have several paper towels hand and know that you will have color and bw ink on your fingers
6. Put the print head on the paper towel
7. Pour rubbing alcohol on the blk and color heads and let them sit of about 10-15 minutes.
8. after that dry the heads and re-insert them in the printer
9. I put new cartridges in the printer and ran clean and deep clean a few times.
10. My color and black and white print came right back!

Hope this helps.

One of the 3 colors will not print

This problem may be due to blocked nozzles, faulty cartridges or a faulty print head or main board. The first thing to do is eliminate the cartridges. Do a proper cartridge change on both printers, but swap the yellow and cyan (blue) cartridges between printers rather than fit new ones. If either (or both) of the missing colours now appear, you know the problem is the cartridges; replace it (or them) with new ones.

For example, take printer A, with yellow missing. Do a cartridge change procedure on printer A, but instead of fitting a new yellow cartridge, put in the yellow cartridge from printer B (since you know this yellow cartridge works). If yellow now prints in printer A, you know the cartridge you took out is faulty - put a new yellow in printer B, and throw away the cartridge you removed from printer A. Repeat this process for printer B with the Cyan cartridge.

For one or both printers where the above does not solve the problem, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. Carefully push the print head across fully into its parking position on the right, so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean or two. If the missing colours now start to appear, try another clean or two. If still not perfect, leave for 24 hours and try again. If still nothing, report back.

Error 5C00 on Canon iP90

i took out both printer cartriges then put them back in. there was a window that asks if you replaced the cartriges; click yes then click on the black and color boxes indicating you replaced (re-inserted) both cartriges. for me the light stopped blinking (previously, it was blinking orange 4 times). next i tried to print but only yellow and black appeared. i then cleaned the head 2 times.

to clean:
-go to control panel
-click on printers
-click on printers and faxes
-find your printer, right click on it
-click properties
-find the maintenance tab
-click cleaning
(clean a couple of times if needed)

hopefully it works...

Epson stylus photo 830 my printer is only printing red wwith the word new zealand at the top

Are you confident the new cartridges are full and in-date? Can you confirm that the old cartridges were not removed until immediately before the new cartridge was installed. Did you remove the yellow tape from the new cartridges before you installed them? Were the cartridges changed properly such that an ink charging cycle occurred. Have you carried out any head cleaning cycles? If not, do it. Have you done a nozzle check print? If not, do it. Any sign of ink? Yes, but not perfect cyan-magenta-yellow and black? If so do a couple more head cleans and nozzle checks. If still not perfect, let it rest for 24 hours to disperse air bubbles. Then repeat.

If you have already done lots of head cleans with no result, and you're sure you have good ink cartridges properly installed, then you can try soaking the print heads for 24 hours (or more), as follows. Turn the printer on, and as soon as the print head moves pull the power cord out of the back, or turn the printer off at the mains. You may now carefully move the print head by hand over to the left hand side out of the way. Look inside the print head
parking area on the right and you will see a small rubber cup that comes up to cover the print nozzles when the head is parked (to stop it drying out). Use a syringe or dropper to fill this cup with head cleaning fluid or distilled water. DO NOT USE TAP WATER. Carefully push the print head fully into its parking position so that the cup full of fluid comes up over the print head. Leave this for at least 24 hours, then try a head clean/nozzle check again. If still nothing, post a new comment detailing what you have done and the results.

Close the front cover, and check the power lamp indication status (blinking or lighting). List of power lamp indications Blinks in green After lighting in green, blinks in orange 2 or more times Lights in orange Blinks alternately in green and orange, 1 time each this is the option i got on the canon website for printer head not moving to the center. but the light indication given does not match with these options.
It is better for you to go to the above link and see what options suite your problem and follow the instruction given by the manufacturer.

the link is :http://www.canon-asia.com/index.jsp?fuseaction=support&prod_type=bj&country=IN.

select your model (i990) then step by step troubleshooting. follow the online instructions.
