Question about Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera

Dropped camera-two corners dark

My son dropped my camera.  I immediately turned it on.  The display screen looked fuzzier and I noticed the two two corners were dark.  I took a couple photos vert and horiz and when reviewing the pictures the dark corners are still there.

Is there anything I can do about this??

Re: Dropped camera-two corners dark

Check what the actual pictures look like when they are downloaded to PC or to print. The problem may only be on the screen. It may be very expensive to replace the screen, but you might be able to live with it?

Good Luck

Sony cybershot t300 lcd screen remains dark when switched on

Your camera must be experiencing these symptoms due to a faulty CCD, and not due to other problems. If the problem is due to your dropping the camera, you might be out of luck.
If you have not dropped your camera and still facing this problem, then contact service people to replace the CCD imager in your camera .

Hope this helps .

Hi, my son dropped my LZ2 camera and now it starts when I power it on, all menus and functions seems to be ok, but no image is displayed in the LCD. Any ideas what's going on?

The LDC screen most likely broke the screen did not crack by the actual underlying LCD screen broke the only option is to replace the screen or have it replaced at a local camera shop

My son dropped it and the flash no longer works. Pictures still look great outside but all inside pictures are super dark. How easily is the flash replaced and what is an estimated cost so I can plan to...

Contact kodak if you want an estimate for repairs.

If your camera can change the exposure, exposure settings. You could just change it so your camera can absorb more light in dark places.

When I turn on my camera it immediately turns off and lights up E18 in the bottom left corner of the display screen.

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

White Screen

  1. Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Camera screen dark

It sounds like you broke the backlight on the display. I would contact Casio to find a repair center.
