Same white lines on top of screen

My Toshiba is less than 5 years old and I also have about 4 inches of white lines across the top of the screen. It has not went out yet but the past couple of days a big black square appears in the center of the screen after it has been on awhile. I figure it's just a matter of time before the tv goes completely out and I will never by another Toshiba anything again.

Panasonic 42" Plasma Model #: th42pz80u won't turn on. No indicator light illuminates. While TV is plugged in, it continually cycles on/off. Picture does not come up. TV is 4 years old.

White horizontal lines on top of screen

Replace all the electrolytic capacitors in the vertical output section circuit. There will be 5 or 6 of them. Replace the at one time. The fault you see is technically called " vertical retrace lies".

I've had my Toshiba 46RV530U less than 2 years,

Diana, did you ever find a solution? My Toshiba (same model) is about 2 years old and it started getting these 4 horizontal lines spaced pretty far apart and a double image at bottom. When I lightly tap the top of the TV, they went away. But now that is not working. Please let me know. Thanks.

My Toshiba TV Model 27AF45 has white horizontal lines across the screen (about 10-15 equally spaced lines from the top edge to 3-4 inches down from the top of the screen). These appear to be reflections...

go to the vertical section n change caps like 100uf, 2.2uf around the section in addtion check some caps in the line o/put like 22uf 250v

Toshiba 52WM48 - Dark line across top of screen about 4 inches

replace the vertical ic, LA 7833 and four capacitors near it, i encountered this last two days.change the parts and it ok now.
cost of this parts is about $20.00

White lines accross top of screen on our 27 inch Toshiba,

lcd or plasma.
are the lines solid or blurred. do they have sharp edges.
You may have a memory problem with the display which can only be repaired by factory trained technicians, or a brave soul willing to find parts on ebay.
