1998 Lucent Partner 18D telephone
Nee to turn on caller id
we do not have a manuel
we do not know all the features for the phone
is there a manuel to download the features and how to turn on the caller Id
The phones have a top panel that flips up and has a lighted green band that displays the time and date. We would like to see caller Id displayed in this band since we pay for caller Id but do not know how to turn it on this phone.

To program a Caller ID Name Display button using remote administration on Partner ACS Release 3 or later systems:
In the Partner ACS R3 System window, select Extensions. The Extensions window appears.
Select the extension you want to program. The Individual Extension Parameters window appears for the selected extension.
Select the Button Programming button. The Button Programming window appears for the selected extension.
Optional - For new systems where no download is available: From the Phone Model box, select the arrow and choose Partner-34D, Partner-18D, Partner-18 Non-display, Partner/MLS-6 Non-display, MLC-6 Cordless, MLS-12 Non-display, MLS-12D, MLS-18D, or MLS-34D for this extension. The button layout for the type of phone you selected appears.
Select the button you want to program. The Partner Set Button Programming Information dialog box appears.
Select the Caller ID Name Display button.
When you are finished, select the OK button.
Repeat steps 5 to 7 to program other buttons for this extension.
The Avaya 3158-05 does not have a display. It can't show the Caller ID information from the telephone provider. The Avaya 3158-07 PARTNER 18D or the 34D will display Caller ID information if your system is connected to a telephone line. (One of these modules: 206EC, 308EC, or 400EC, is required. If you have a T1 line, you can't get Caller ID.)
The caller id information is sent from your local telco provider after the first ring and might not be able to be extended to the individual sets, try backing off the ring to answer on your voice mail from 2 to 3 rings to see if the information is then passed on. The Voice Messaging System message is being sent from the system showing who transfered the call to you. You should also notice that the ring pattern when that message is displayed is a standard ring followed by a beep meaning a transfer is taking place.
2 line caller id is offered on newer versions of software. On earlier versions a call id name button is used to toggle between the clid name and number.
To program a button on your set press feature 00, press a button you wish to program as clid name,
and press feature 16, press feature 00 to exit programming. Press the button to toggle from clid number to clid name
It depends on the version of partner ACS/ partner plus you have.If your version is after 4.0 it should do a two line caller ID. 3.0 and before you can program a button to toggle from number to name. thats done by pressing the feature key followed by 00, pressing the button you wish to program as clid name and entering feature 16, press feature 00 when finished.
hope that helps
There's a whole sequence of CID associations that need to be done to make CID work the way you want it. It requires an 18 or 34 D, and you start turning on system programs 317, 318, 319 and program a Feature 23 button to the phone that logs all calls.
A linkable PDF is available here. Start at section 4-10 and use the blue links to understand the programming. Full step-by-step instructions are beyond the scope of a free forum.
