Question about Bosch Axxis WTA 3510 Electric Dryer

Motor does not start

The motor does not turn when the start button is pressed down. Electronic display is working, ie the "drying light" turns on or the timed display counts down (depending on the program chosen). There is no sound at all. I suspect cold welds on the PCB but I cannot find a way to remove it from its clipped plasic housing. Does someone know how to remove the PCB in order to check the welds?
Thanks

When I turn on the dryer, the lights go on, but nothing happens. We have had this as an intermittent problem in the past. The dryer would then start to work again in hours to days. It has worked for 6 months without any incident and now it won't again. It is not working for 3 days now. Don't no where to start. Please help.

Lights all work, nothing in the door area blocking, close the door, push start . . . nothing happens?
    Any quick fixes?

Having same problem as Kenvito. Any suggestions?

  • Mike G May 19, 2008

Lights on, even says it's drying. No movement. The drum is stiff and hard to rotate by hand.

  • tberger1 Jul 27, 2008

All lights are functioning but the motor is not turning on the drum for either a timed setting or a fixed setting. Can you recommend how we might correct this.

  • boschguy Sep 08, 2008

Same as the others posted. Tried letting it cool down to see if hot motor was the problem. Nope. Tried unplugging and replugging to see if anything needed to be 'rebooted.' Nope.

  • ereiss Oct 05, 2008

Same as others described. Lights on, not starting. Small clicking sound occurs near the door switch when start is pushed. With pen pushed in where the door latch goes but did not cause it to start. Decided it must be the switch but don't know how to get at it with risking damage to the unit.

    Is it easy to replace?

    Thanks

I solved the problem by 1) simulating the door closing by pushing a pen in to the latch area. 2) spraying T-9 Boeshield which solved the electrical connection problem. Simple as that, dryer is working again.

Hi,
I did finally call Bosch and have them come out to take a look. I basically paid for the guy to come in and close the door and press on the outside of the door on the area where the door meets the latch. He said the connection has to meet and pressing it usually solves the problem. He said you can press around the small rectangular opening before you shut the door as well. I haven't had a problem since.
Hope this helps.

We had same problem. The plastic 'hook' on the door needs to press into a small rectangular opening  that looks like its got a folding door to enter the machine. I suspected the hook wasn't penetrating far enough or not pushing what ever's behind the 'door' to activate.
So I took a small flat blade screwdriver, imitated being the 'hook,' and pressed the screwdriver deep enough through the little 'door' to hear a click. Went back to standard door closing procedure, and the machine now works fine. I don't know what I did or how long this will last, but I'm keeping the screwdriver nearby!

They use an over complex door latch mechanism. problem is possibly there. need to bridge those 2 wires out first and see if it is the problem. then rectify

If the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive).
To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

high temp wash
heated dry
high temp wash
heated dry

all the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes).
You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).
I Hope this works for you.

This machine was spinning with an uneven load and stopped working so I emptied the machine and took it apart. I found the shock absorber on the tub needed to be put back together so I fixed that problem...

The error E68 means the ccu has sensed a stuck button on the console. MANY times this is a false error and means that either the ccu or interface must be replaced, but SOMETIMES, there really is a stuck button. TRy to run a diagnostic using the instructions I have provided below, let me know if you need any help with it.
1. Press and hold Select and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds to reset the control. The buzzer will sound
1 time and "rES" will be shown briefly in the display.
2. Immediately after, rotate cycle selector knob 5 turns counter-clockwise to the second position from the bottom.
Press and hold the Options and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. The control will enter test mode,
the buzzer will sound 3 times and all LED's will rapidly flash.
After entering the test mode, the cycle selector knob can now be rotated to select the following tests:
Rotate the cycle selector knob clockwise from the starting position:
0 turns: All LED's will flash.
1 turn: Drive motor runs; heat source is on. Drying LED is lit. "H" and the control thermistor reading will toggle
back and forth in the display.
2 turns: Drive motor runs; heat source is off. Cool Down LED is lit and "AF" (Air Fluff) is displayed.
3 turns: Drive motor runs; heat source is off. Drying and Cool Down LED's are lit and numbers appear in the
display showing moisture sensor readings. Opening the door (press in on door switch plunger) and placing
a finger on the both moisture sense bars at the same time will make the numbers decrease. In controls that
do not have a digit display, the More Dry LED should be ON. Opening the door (press in on door switch
plunger) and placing a finger on the both moisture sense bars at the same time will make the Damp LED
come on.
4 turns: Drive motor runs; heat source is off.
Key test:
a. When the Temperature key is pressed, all the temperature LED's should light.
b. When the Dryness key is pressed, all the dryness level LED's should light.
c. When the Options or Select key is pressed, all the Option LED's should light.
d. When the Start/Pause key is pressed, all the cycle status LED's should light.
e. When the Cancel key is pressed, all the cycle status LED's should light.
5 turns: Drive motor runs; heat source is off. Cool Down LED is lit. Control thermistor reading is displayed.
6 turns: Drive motor runs; heat source is on. Drying LED is lit. Control thermistor reading is displayed.
7-11 turns: All LED's will flash
To EXIT test mode, press and hold the Select and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds or disconnect power
from dryer. Dryer will be reset for regular operation.
If you cant even enter this mode at all, your interface will have to be replaced. There is no way to determine whether its the intrface OR ccu, but in my experience, it's usualy the interface that ends up needing replacement. Here is the part to order.

f the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats...

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it will stop working and lock the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water. Check the element for damage (burnt/shorted).

To clear the flashing light you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence...

-high temp wash

Hold down the "HEATED DRY" button for 4 seconds to unlock.
Try to press these botton in sequence,Heated Wash, Heated Dry, Heated Wash, Heated Dry.release your hand, the unit will go into diagnostic mode. that is all leds will ON for a few seconds, and start normal operations.
If that does not work, you might need to check the electronic control board if the ribbon is seated properly.
Finally solution, is to change the electronic control board.

Try pressing heated wash, heated dry, then heated wash, heated dry. It should reset it. Also try pressing and holding the cancel button for 5 seconds to see if that works if the other doesnt.
