Question about GE Spacemaker JVM1640SJ Microwave Oven
I would suspect a clogged grease filter (which can be cleaned) and/or charcoal filter (which cannot be cleaned and must be replaced).
You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
The manual will give you the details.
Also be sure the hood vent exhaust fan is working correctly.
