I TOOK THE BACK OFF PHONE, PUT IT BACK ON AND IT NO LONGER WORKS

To register my product I had to give my product's MEID #. I mistakenly thought it was on the battery. So, with no difficulty, I took the back off of the phone, saw no MEID #, and placed the back on gently, and heard a little click. I pressed the power on side button. NOTHING IS HAPPENING. NOTHING AT ALL. I did not remove the battery - I just peeked. Can anyone help me??

I have an indigi 40 with 2sim cards. I am supposed to be able to use it on both phone connections but Straight Talk says they cannot connect it to their service. Why is this?

The SIM card helps identify the individual device as well as the service it receives. When you activate the phone, you have to give them all kinds of information- phone MEID, SIM number, etc. If you have a faulty SIM, they will send a new one and you have to give them the numbers for the new card to activate it. The problem appears that you're trying to register two SIMs to a single phone. I would talk to Straight Talk customer service to be sure, but I'm betting you can only activate that phone on a single SIM and you won't be able to get service switching back and forth between them.

What type of phone do i have?

Usually there is an "About" entry somewhere in the phone settings menu, but another way to find out is to turn the phone off, remove the back cover and battery and find the sticker with a bunch of numbers on it. If it doesn't have a model, find the set of numbers labelled ESN or IMEI or MEID and put it in the ESN checker on tis site: Check your ESN IMEI MEID free and instantly with Swappa

That site will tell you the status as well as the type of phone you have.

How do i recover the dec number cause the sticker is off for w385

*#06# may or may not work. The feature was not added to all Motorola phones until after the w385 was in production. You can also find a website that will convert the MEID into a DEC number. The ESN is not a DEC if it has letters. DEC is only numbers and should start with 26. MEID and ESN or HEX have a mix of letters and numbers. There are converter websites if you find the MEID to convert into DEC. Motorola has one too. I'll find it.

My LG Viper phone just stopped working,

Mine does this often. Sometimes it's so dead that it has to blink for a little while before being able to boot back up.

I dropped my samsung in the toilet so i want to actvate an old one i had until i can replace it but i cant find an meid number on the one i need to use. there is no 14 digit number for it

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

The MEID number can usually be found in two places on your phone.

1) Remove the battery. Under it, there should be a small sticker attached to your phone. Your ESN/MEID number should be on it.

2) If you are unable to find it under your battery, put your battery back in your phone and boot it up. Then press the following keys: * # 0 6 # (Star, Pound, Zero, Six, Pound) Your phone should display your ESN/MEID number.

I a trying to register my cell phone and i need to find my serial number on my samsung sch-u450 phone. Each time i get the messsage that i dont have the right one. Witch one is the right one?

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

On many phones (but not all) on the phone's keypad press the following keys: * # 0 6 # (Star, Pound, Zero, Six, Pound) This will display your ESN or MEID number.

If this doesn't work, turn your phone off and remove the battery. Under the battery will be a white label with either the ESN number or the MEID number. If you see both, use the MEID number.

Where is the page button on the base unit to register phone????????

if i'm not mistaken all you do to register the phone is put the handset into the base unit ... i believe the light flashes for a sec then it's registered... repeat that with all the handsets you have. it will not be registered if you have put the handset into the spare charging stand if that is included with your phone.
