The pump probably has bones or food stuck in it. Take out the racks and see if you use a flashlight, whether you can spot anything in the area of the pump drain.

SOURCE: dishwasher stopped washing just making

humming noise is the wash pump energised but not turning.
this can be:
wash pump seized up
foreign object stuck in the pump impellor.
pump capacitor faulty - a common fault. if pump turns freely by hand but not when energised, then the fault is probably the pump capacitor - cheap part

SOURCE: My dishwasher is making a humming sound and does not rinse?

A humming sound can be a failing wash motor (that drives the water pump) or it can be as simple as a blockage in the the pump area beneath the lower spray arm, under the filter.
Remove the spray arm and the filter top (screws will need to be removed)
Use a flashlight and inspect all over the sump area for debris that is blocking/jamming the impeller area. Reasemble and test with a short cycle.
If the dishwasher continues to make the same humming, it is time to replace the wash pump.
Good Luck! Post back here if you would like more guidance.

SOURCE: No water running through cycle once filled....making humming noise once clicks into cycle

Both problems sound like motor has failed or is failing.

Whirlpool dishwasher wont wash

if the bottom tub is filling with water but not washing the issues is with the wash motor, some of this model use a start capacitor that can fail, if it has a capacitor on the side of the motor it may have failed but are difficult to diagnose but are cheap to replace so worth trying, if this doesn't help or if it doesn't have a capacitor then the fault is with the wash motor.

Washer hums but will not fill or start/ spin has water pressure and tub seems to move freely the model #on tag LTF2140ES0

If it doesn't fill it won't start any other cycle unless you move it ahead yourself. If it hums I am thinking it is trying to fill. Sounds like the valve is turning on to let water in but it is not getting through. My washer has a screen where the hoses go on and sometimes the screen becomes plugging with scale. If that is ok then the solenoid must be coming on but the valve is stuck. Does neither hot or cold settings work? Please rate my answer so I am rewarded points for it.

The loud humming noise can be due to the pump sticking if a piece of debris gets trapped in it or an intermittent fault on the pump capacitor or starter relay.

Dishwasher not moving past sensing cycle

humming noise sounds like a solenoid is not snapping in, this is not something that the average or even above average homeowner can fix. Solenoids go bad, they are a moving part that are activated by electricity, can be dangerous to mess with as water and electricity don't mix. Get a repairman or get a new one.
