Question about Nokia N95 Cellular Phone

How can you help me with my N95 display window light won't turn

On even the power is up? the keys are ok! I can call and received a message but I only read the message near the flourescent light or under the sun.

Is the back light turned off?

open up settings, and display, light sensor, adjust it until the screen is clearly visible
also adjust power saver time out, make it a little higher.
then also adjust light time out and make it also higher.

that should do it.

Reset the product:
1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.

If this reset won't work ...open the front door ..and move the carriage to look for any paper left from a previous jam or so ...Make sure there is nothing blocking the ink carriage ..and than close the door and make the reset again ..

BY the way ...it may be a good idea to reinstall the software again too ..

Press and release the "OK" Button. Message changes to "Hardware failure status Cleared. Press Cancel to continue".
Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the "Ink System Failure" screen appears. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the Power Button, turn the unit OFF and unplug the power cable from back of the printer and wall outlet.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first and then into the back of the printer
Turn the unit on. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON TO SHUTDOWN THE PRINTER" followed by "PRESS OK TO CONTINUE".

Ink system


The ink system failure message has a chance to be fixed or it may be a permanent issue. It
can be pointing toward a firmware failure in the printer and if that is the case the
following steps should fix it.
Press and hold the “*” key. Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
Press and release in sequence the "1”, “2” and “3” buttons.
Display should say “Support” and display the FW rev (something like R0631R)
Mine reads R0631M
. Press and release the right arrow button until the display says “System Configuration
Menu”.
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status”. If not there already, Arrow Key over to
“Hardware failure status”,
Press and release the “OK” button.
Display should say “Hardware failure status: Clear. Press OK to clear”.
Press and release the “OK” Button. Message changes to “Hardware failure status Cleared.
Press Cancel to continue”.
Press and release the “CANCEL” button as many times as necessary, so that, either the
“Welcome to Photosmart Express” screen appears, or, the “Ink System Failure” screen appears.

Failure to print


Please follow the below steps.
STEP 1.
Please take out all the cartridges and clean the copper contacts with the help of a lint free cloth and the water.
STEP 2.
1. Un plug the power chord from the back of the printer.
2. Press and hold the power button of the printer.Wait for 30 seconds.
3. While holding the power button, re-plug the power cable.
4. Turn on the printer, if it is not on.
STEP 3.
Reset the All-in-One to the factory default settings by using these instructions:

1) Press Red Eye Removal & Print Photos button simultaneously

2)Enter Special Key Combo is displayed on the screen.
Press and release in sequence "Red Eye Removal", "Print Photos", "Red Eye Removal"
Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev XXXXX.

3) Press Right Arrow button untill "Reset Menu" is displayed. Press OK.

4) Press Right arrow untill "Semifull Reset" is displayed.

5) Press OK.
Arter all these steps, if the issue still persists, please follow the below steps.

A. - Press and hold the “*” key.
B. - Press the “#” key and release both keys.
Display should say “Enter Special Key Combo”
C. - Press and release in sequence the “1”, “2” and “3” buttons.

Back Light


First, check that the something is actually displayed :
Turn off the phone then put it on charge.
Check to see if the NOKIA logo appears even if the display is unlit. (try angling the display towards a sunlit window).

Having charged it, try to turn it on.. Do you detect the vibration the phone makes when starting up?

If nothing is displayed but you get that vibration I suspect that the display is somehow damaged and you'll need to look at replacement.

You local nokia centre should be able to provide you with a quote for the repairwork otherwise if you're confident opening it you might be able to replace the screen with one obtained from here for example:

I had a similar problem recently.Where messages would recieve, but no alert, no vibrate, no notice of "1 new message received". Even restarting the phone wouldn't solve this. I eventually managed to resolve this by freeing up some space from the phone (old messages, photos,etc) and restarting. I haven't had a problem since.

hi there OWEE hope this will work for you. its a software problem
here's the tricks:
backup contacts first. then
power off the phone first then PRESS and HOLD
"CALL KEY" + "* KEY" + "3 KEY" then power on the phone just hold and wait till NOKIA LOGO appears then release. finish, phone will be ok. you will know that you successfully format the phone cuz' all your data form the phone will be back to normal.

N95 wont display names


I f u r able to transferr contacts to ur memory card then pliz do that and then reset ur phone and the default code is 12345, otherwise save ur conatacts on paper, then reset ur phone, and if u r using ur memory card then remove this and see whether the contacts appear or not.
