SAMSUNG PS 42P2SB WONT TURN ON

it comes with a HD digital tuner. It may have an analog tuner aswell, but is unclear from the information (2 tuners, so allows picture-in-picture).

From the Picture, it appears that the tuner may be built into the seperate box, which comes with the plasma.

There is a fault on the processing board that is now causeing the only signal to be sent to the panel to be that green bar. Most likely a capacitor has failed. This may be a relatively simple repair or more expenmsive. In either case, the most expensive part (the panel) is OK. This is not a DIY repair. Please seek assistance at a service center. It is worth the estimate cost to get a complete diagnosis as without seeing the actual unit, I can;t say for sure whether or not the board is repairable.

At this point it appears that your main board is probably bad. You most likely have a 5 volt scource going to the main board but its not powering up the set. The main board is part number BN94-00796A.
You might want to have a technician look at the TV to verify this as the issue before purchasing it. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

You need the capacitors on the power supply board replaced. Samsung is covering the cost to repair this problem on your model. Just call 1-800-samsung and they should set you up for repair.
