Question about Hotpoint Dryers
Sounds like your heating element and/or thermostats blown. I've just replaced both for £45. Is working fine now. However if you decide to go ahead and do this ensure that the element hasn't been damaged by any other reason (such as water getting onto the fan) otherwise the fault will reoccur. If your electric is tripping then water may be getting onto the element. The parts are relatively easy to remove and replace and are located behind a large metal panel on the back of the machine.
