Craftsman tractor won't go into gear; had flat tire, got it fixed and remounted, now tractor won't go into gear

Not much info here on model and type. However, my Craftsman Tractor 46", 971.288520 with automatic transmission. On all these similar models, on the rear of the mower and the rear axle level, a small key-hole type opening exists that has a small diameter wire protruding with a 90 degree bend at the end. If you pull on this wire, it disengages the transmission so you can push the mower around for loading or other reasons. To reengage, just push the wire back in and transmission will again work. Only moves about an inch each way when pulled and pushed. This may have been hit while working on tire. Can also be use to prevent driving by others who do not know about the release. Another possibility that happens quite frequently with this model mower, especially when jacked up to replace wheels, tires or bearings, is the drive belt will drop down off of the drive pulley under the engine. Belt is loose when drive is not engaged. That is how the design keeps the mower from moving when you are "out of gear." So, loose is fine, but not up and around the pulley is not. The belt is held in place by a couple of "keepers" on each side so that it does not completely fall off. I have even had this happen when I stopped mower in yard, disengaged transmission to get off and pick something up. Kind of a goofy design, but cheap way to solve the disengage drive issue.

Does my pto mower engage/disengage clutch need replaced or adjusted?

so the pto was spinning around WITH the crankshaft? if so then you have a broke pto bracket it keeps the pto still while the bottom spins the deck belt - look under the mower if you can turn the pto more then a half inch then you have a missing bracket or its hitting sometimes and acting like its not there half the time

Cubcadet LTX 1045 blades disengage for no apparent reason.

I don't think it's wiring. If it were, the PTO clutch should disengage.
In your case, it's not. To me, it sounds more like a mechanical load on the blades or possibly bearing gone in one of the blade pulley assemblies.

Electric Blade Clutch is shorted or if you are lucky the wiring to the clutch is grounded. Many times the wiring to the clutch is caught in debris or twigs etc. and pulls the wiring out and cuts and grounds it.

Cruise control works until you hit the brakes then you have to shut off and restart the car to reengage.stays working if you use the switch on steering wheel.

Not sure what the question is here. But yes, cruise control disengages when you tap the brake (for obvious reasons). Just reset everything (turn cruise off) then do it again to reengage cruise control.

The problem is probably in the button that you pull and push to engaged and disengage the PTO... If you wiggle the button or try to pull it slowly, you may find a spot where it will work. But the button has gone bad and will need to be replaced.
If you are comfortable with wiring, you could jumper the wires and getting it working, but it would be a very temporary and possibly dangerous fix...

In the cub cadet, the PTO power is maintained via a latching circuit that includes a reverse switch and a reverse relay. Locate the reverse switch that senses whether the tractor is in reverse -- either it's come loose, become misadjusted, or it's failed, or the wiring and connections are loose. You could bypass the switch to confirm this as the problem.
