How can i istall windows server 2000 on Dell Poweredge T300

Windows 2000 is not supported on this machine. The closest you could get is using a hypervisor XenServer or VMWare ESXi and then installing Windows 2000 on a virtual machine.

How to recover sql 2000 sa password

Microsoft SQL Server 2000 is a full-featured relational database management system that offers a variety of administrative tools to ease the burdens of database development, maintenance and administration. It operates in one of two authentication modes: Windows Authentication Mode (the default) or Mixed Mode.

When you install the SQL Server 2000, you can log in the server with Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication if you select mixed mode authentication. If you select Windows Authentication, you cannot assign a sa password during installation. However, you should set the sa password after installation.

It is very easy for one to set sa password in SQL 2000. Just follow the below steps:

* 1. Expand a server group, and then expand a server.
* 2. Expand Security, and then click Logins.
* 3. In the details pane, right-click SA, and then click Properties.
* 4. In the Password box, type the new password.

The type of client connections determines the choice of security mode. If all of the incoming clients support trusted connections, you can use Windows Authentication Mode. If some clients do not support trusted connections, you can select Mixed Mode.

If you forget the sa password, you will need to use MS SQL Server Password Unlocker to reset sa password SQL 2000. MS SQL Server Password Unlocker is easy yet powerful SQL Server password reset software for you to reset SQL password, including reset SA password and other user passwords. It provides you an easy and safe way to reset SQL Server password for Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 in a minute. No need for you to reinstall MS SQL Server on your PC. The file in master.mdf format is enough for you to recover sa password SQL 2000.

Steps to reset sql password 2000 for sa as follows:
* 1. Download and install MS SQL Server Password Unlocker.
* 2. Click the application icon to run it.
* 3. Click Open to import your master.mdf file. All the user names of your MS SQL Server will be displayed.
* 4. Select sa account, click Change password button to reset sa password.
* 5. Type a new password, and then click OK to finish your operation.

Note: This method to reset sa password in sql server 2000 is usually applied when you cannot login SQL Server 2000 by Windows Authentication wile you forget system administrator login password.

More information about sa password:

According to Microsoft, System administrator (sa) is a special login provided for backward compatibility. By default, it is assigned to the sysadmin fixed server role and cannot be changed. Although sa is a built-in administrator login, do not use it routinely. Instead, make system administrators members of the sysadmin fixed server role, and have them log on using their own logins. Use sa only when there is no other way to log in to an instance of Microsoft SQL Server.

This is informational: Upgrade is done within Windows, though it will reboot. Booting with installation disc is a clean install. Both look very similar.

Make sure to backup data just in case. Good Luck

What is windows 2000?

Windows 2000 is a line of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, business desktops, laptops, and servers. Windows 2000 was released to manufacturing on 15th December 1999 [3] and launched to retail on 17 February 2000.[4] It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the final release of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation.[5] It was succeeded by Windows XP for desktop systems in October 2001 and Windows Server 2003 for servers in April 2003. Windows Me was released seven months after Windows 2000 and one year before Windows XP, but Windows Me was not intended to be, nor did it serve as the successor to Windows 2000. Windows Me was designed for home use, while Windows 2000 was designed for business.[6]
Four editions of Windows 2000 were released, listed here in increasing ranking: Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server.[7] Additionally, Microsoft sold Windows 2000 Advanced Server Limited Edition and Windows 2000 Datacenter Server Limited Edition, which ran on 64-bit Intel Itanium microprocessors and were released in 2001.[8] While each edition of Windows 2000 was targeted at a different market, they shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console and standard system administration applications.
Support for people with disabilities has been improved over Windows NT 4.0 with a number of new assistive technologies,[9] and Microsoft increased support for different languages[10] and locale information.[11]
All versions of the operating system support the Windows NT file system, NTFS 3.0,[12] the Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage.[13] The Windows 2000 Server family has additional features,[14] including the ability to provide Active Directory services (a hierarchical framework of resources), Distributed File System (a file system that supports sharing of files) and fault-redundant storage volumes. Windows 2000 can be installed through either a manual or unattended installation.[15] Unattended installations rely on the use of answer files to fill in installation information, and can be performed through a bootable CD using Microsoft Systems Management Server, by the System Preparation Tool.[16]
Microsoft marketed Windows 2000 as the most secure Windows version ever at the time;[17] however, it became the target of a number of high-profile virus attacks such as Code Red and Nimda.[18] For ten years after its release, it continued to receive patches for security vulnerabilities nearly every month until reaching the end of its lifecycle on 13 July 2010.

Want to install printer

If you are running Windows XP or Windows Vista, you may simply plug in the printer to the computer, and the computer will install the generic driver.

By default, Windows XP and Vista already has the generic driver installed.

However, if the printer is not a Plug-n-Play device, you will need to load the CD that came with the printer, and follow the installation wizard.

Thank you and good luck!

Hi, Have you checked your security permissions on the 2003 IIS ?

Are the users using it as Intranet or Internet?

Is the site internal/external or possibly firewalled with rules restricting correct port operation and access permissions?
