Hi jackire,

the unit has a breaker on its power supply, using an incorrect powerpack will break the fuse i the unit leaving it dead but protected from the surge that came in.

if this is still in warranty have it brought to the dealer to have the circuit breaker replaced. or a local repair shop will do it for you for more than 75 dollars.

hope this helps.

regards,

voodoo

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Panasonic Viera TH-50PX80A. After lighting strike, inputs do not work.

The set MAY have a hard reset but you would have to call Panasonic to find out.

What happens with lightening strikes is RF gets into the set in two ways--via the power cord (usually a dead set is the result) and via the coax or cable fitting.

It sounds like it was the latter--it may have confused the microprocessor in the set(input issues) so unplugging set and or a box if used (receiver unit also!) may or may not help.

Surge protectors rarely operate quickly enough to stop this and even if the cable feed is protected stray RF can get past that also.

try my suggestions and then call Panasonic.

It has completely gone dead, there is power coming to the unit. I believe I accidently turned the unit on to heat yesterday with nothing inside instead of turning on the timer thereby allowing the unit to...

You already know it can be a costly mistake. Had it happen in my own home!!!!

Several things can be wrong:

1. The Fuse inside the unit
2. The High Voltage Capacitor
3. The Power Diode
4. (bad news) The Magnetron.

There is an RF window that can be bad also as when a microwave is run with no load it can be burned. It is supposed to help protect the Magnetron from reverse flow RF and help disperse the RF inside the unit.

The next question is: "Are you going to talke this by yourself or have it repaired?" We can you advise on what to do but there are some hazards that you need to be aware of if your going top give it a go..... Just reply here. Thanks.

Panasonic RF-B65 short wave radio won't tune to frequency when turned on, just flashes 'E' and turns off automatically. Any suggestions ?

RF-B65 has a known issue with the power connector on side. It gets resistive from not being used. If you apply 6 vdc and it works, its most likely the batteries or the power connector. If both produce a "E" its PLL doesnt lock. Power plug most likely issue. Another issue is the tuning knob. It skips or jumps irratically. The up/down frequency changes are by a cube 1/2 inch square contactor. Its not optical. Just simple mechanical contactor. Remove the small cube from chassis and spray liquid gold. It will clean wire contactor and lubricate internals. You cannot buy the cube. Cleaning it always works for me. RF-B65 radio is a sure winner. Small, reliable and very sensitive. Has SSB also. eter

You may need to replace the rechargeable battery in it. Radio Shack used to carry some of these packs. They are usually 3 cell NiCADS.

No 1384 firewire driver for Panasonic PV-GS300 camcorder

I found the recipe. To get my DV Camcorder to work using 1384 (Firewire) on my computer I did:

1. Get a good cable. If you paid less than $20 for it, you got the wrong one.
2. Ensure that the 1384 (firewire) port is enabled on your computer. Go into the BIOS setup and check to be sure. Mine was OFF!
3. If you get an error with Windows XP not being able to find your hardware, you need to get all the drivers. There are four or five of them along with a configuration file. Miss any one and you are dead. My solution was to reinstall Windows Service Pack 3. This took a long time, but fixed the driver problems.

Good luck!

Panasonic NV-SJ205 Changing Rf ?

ok. This is a really easy one.
All you have to do is hold down the menu button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds, If that doesnt work hold down the power button on the remote control for more than 5 seconds. If that doesnt work hold down the power button on the actual vcr unit for 15 seconds. The first method should work for Panasonic's fine.
This will then display your current rf output.
You can then change the output by using the up and down arrows or the channel up and down button on your remote or the vcr unit.
Press menu button to save or the same button you used to bring up the rf opposition eg power button on remote or the unit.

all the best. Top tech
