HP psc 1210 all in one

Whenever I scan something to copy it, it comes out with about a 2in black line on the right side of the paper.

I scan a sheet of paper with writing on it. It still does the same thing.

It doesn't matter where I place the item I am trying to scan, I get the same 2 inch black line. It is not caused by blank space (I am scanning documents) and I do not have the scanner cover open while scanning. The black line is imposed over what I am scanning. This problem just started a few weeks ago. Any help?

When you scan a picture or document try placing some white paper over the picture or document AND more importantly, cover the glass in a manner such that you have all the glass covered. That should solve your scanning issue. If it does not solve the problem, write back, including what happened when you tried the suggestion. Like I always say, try the easiest solution first, and then progress to the next step. Good luck. rey

Are you leaving the cover of the scanner up ? If so, it needs to be closed or you will get solid black.

    1) Place item to scan on scanner.

    2) Place white paper over your item to scan, AND place white paper over all the remaing glass.

    3) Close the clover

    4) Press button to scan...that's it.

    Does this work...?

Move the document (90 degrees) you are scanning to a different position (90 degrees) on the scanner ... Note if the black part is in the same location. Let me know. rey

Cropping down a photo when scanned

if the basic scanning window is coming up with a preview of the image, drag the dotted line around the outside of the scanner bed to the position and clic re-scan.

How to scan an A4 page?

This happened to me just then, thought it might be a setting. But instead of putting the cover thing down, just hold your page there. Make sure it fits the a4 one and hold it there. Put some weight on the right hand side near the edge of the page. Maybe it goes on where there is pressure or something, i dunno, but put weight on the right hand edge of the page. Worked for me

Copy problems

The "CIS" scanning device on the scanner is broken. Replace the entire printer because fixing it is more expensive than a new printer.
