It could be both. Video editing programs are resource hogs and tend to drain all of your resources. Not knowing what computer you have or the amount of RAM or OS you have, it's hard to tell. You can try shutting down other processes running in the background that you don't need before trying to edit the video.

Something else to consider is video software also needs considerable space to place temporary files when editing or ripping into a movie. You should ensure the hard drive that the temp folder is in had plenty of free space.

As far as the video file being corrupt, are you editing one file or are you putting together multiple files? If it's multiple files, it's very possible the file you're working on when it crashes is corrupt.

Hope this helps answer your questions.
Best of luck.

I have Magix movie edit pro 2013. I am making a movie and it will play the audio of a certain track but not the video. what is wrong and how do i fix it. Anytime, i try to play this one clip, the...

On the timeline mode you will see all the tracks laid out. At the start of each one you will see a load of icons - S M and a padlock. On the video track make certain the M (for mute) is not selected. To be certain press play on the video monitor screen and then click the M for the video track. If it was selected the picture should come back.

If that isn't the problem it might be that your computer doesn't have the memory to cope with the video editing software. You can check this out by looking at the bottom left of the timeline mode screen. You will see the word CPU. When the video plays the number will increase. If it goes above 50 you might have problems. If it is at 70+ you have serious memory problem dealing with videos.

I have burnt a dvd choosing scenes from my everio camera however the dvd pauses in between each one instead of making it look like one continuous taping

You'll need to edit your video clips with the software that hopefully came with your camera to make your DVD play seamlessly, or you could use a third party software to do the same.

After editing the video via your PC, you should preview it before burning to insure it's what you wanted to produce.

Good luck

Best video editing software program on your hand

I got a film which I like very much, but I want to cut the last 2 minutes down, I used Windows Movie Maker, but it didn't support MP4 format videos. How can I edit mp4 videos on my computer? badge-alt-exclamation.png Maybe you can try another video editor . It is a professional video editing program which can create your movie with a few simple drag-and-drops and enhance your videos so that they have professional look. It also supports almost any popular formats such as files in AVI, MP4, WMV, 3GP, QuickTime, DVD, VOB, etc.
Now we come to learn how to edit MP4 videos with AVS Video Editor.
Step 1: Download and install AVS Video Editor
Download AVS Video Editor, run AVSVideoEditor.exe and follow the installation wizard instructions.

Step 2: Launch AVS Video Editor and load your MP4 video
Run AVS Video Editor. A new empty project will be created automatically. Press the Import button within the Main Library pane to load the MP4 video file:

start-working-with-video-editor-2.png The selected MP4 video file will be added into the Video category of Main Library:
start-working-with-video-editor-3.png Step 3: Add your MP4 video to the Timeline
To apply different effects to your video, you should place it to the Timeline area, first of all. So, select your video in the file area (enter the Video category if you are not in it) and without releasing the left mouse button drag it to the very first row of the Timeline and only after that release the button to drop the video there

More information ,please have a close look at the video editing software

Also you can use a dvd burning software to help you in some ways. Best wishes for you!

Edit photographs video

In recent years, laptops have become almost as powerful as desktops. You don't have to remain stationary when doing things such as editing photos or video. You can take your project with you. With the right combination of laptop and video editing program, you can produce professional looking videos anywhere.

Make sure your laptop is capable. Editing video is both a processor and memory heavy process. If you have a slow processor and only the minimum amount of RAM required, your video editing software may run slowly. Also, make sure you have enough hard drive memory to store your clips and renders. Choose video editing software. Most computers today will have a program installed with the operating system, such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, but these tend to be basic. If you want something more advanced, consider purchasing it. Consumer grade video software runs as little as $50, while professional options such as Avid Media Composer can cost thousands of dollars. Become familiar with your software. Certain video editing programs have a higher learning curve than others. If you've chosen a professional grade video editing program, such as Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer, learning the program may be difficult, so you take a tutorial or read a manual to get acquainted with the various functions of the program. Capture your video. Connect your connection cable or SD card to your laptop. Open your video software and look for an option that says "Capture." The labeling may be different, depending on your software. For example, in Final Cut Pro, the option is "Log and Transfer." Capturing your raw footage imports it to the video editing software so it can be edited. Edit. Once you have captured your video, your clips should appear in your clip library. From there, you should be able to drag them onto the timeline, trim them, slow them down, add effects and manipulate them any way you want.

I have Magix movie edit pro 17 and by the time i am done editing a video the sound is out of sync by 2-3 seconds. When I click on edit frame table (as lots of boards suggest), the sound is in sync for...

This is actually a problem in the software. It rounds up the 29.97 frames per second to 30, but doesn't adjust the audio to match. It has been a problem since version 11, and MAGIX has made no effort to fix it.

The workaround is to create a Frame Table (right click the video track and click the Create Frame Table option on the menu.) It will take quite a while to create the table but some people have had good success with this.
