Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a Gateway T series 1616 with a Webcam 1.3 Megapixal. I have never figured out how to launch/run the Webcam. I temporarily stumbled across a work-a-round when on Myspace, you select the upload photos option, there is a link to use your webcam. This actually worked for while and I decided that since I could not determine how to run my webcam, I would use myspace as a work-a-round. The problem is, the myspace work-a-round doesn't always work. For instance yesterday, it stated it was "searching for camera" and clocked for 30 minutes and I gave up. This morning it came right up immediately.. It begins with the following instructions: Upload Photos Upload photos to share with friends and family. If you don't see the Upload Photo form below, click here To take a photo directly with your webcam, click here. On the control panel, it provides the following information: I have a Gateway T series 1616 with a Webcam 1.3 Megapixal. Yesterday it clocked for 30 minutes searching for the camera and I gave up. This morning it pulled right up on first try. I checked my control panel device manager and under imaging devices it lists the gateway webcam and states the USB 2.0 webcam device is working correctly. It also lists scanners, which I do not use. I am at a loss on how to launch the webcam without having to go through myspace and at a loss regarding why it does not work through myspace on a consistent basis. I need help. Thank you, Cindy

How do I run the Peavey - 212-6 cabinet at 8 ohms stereo?

After quite a bit of searching around, I stumbled across this cab and figured you usually can't go wrong with Peavey (for durability anyway) and coupled with 2 Celestion Green Backs for this price?! Had to give it a shot. Glad I did. Very versatile cab, can run 16 ohm stereo or 8 ohm mono, removable back so can run closed or open. Just what I needed. I run mostly open back, just my preference, but closed back sounds pretty decent, much more punchy.

I have a gateway ZX4931 computer with a built in webcam but I can not figure out how to use it.

is this a laptop or in a monitor connected to the tower of a desktop?
the webcams usually are located in the Control Panel of the Start button box. in control panel look for hardware devices, cameras, etc and click on that choice. it should list your webcam. it may be in the Programs list of the Start button(All Programs). It will be listed by the model number or manufacturer name. click on it to run the program if it is found. read the instructions or 'read me' file if listed under your webcam listing

Cant display

need to find out if the issue is with the display, power chord, vga cable, vga card or the connectors...

1. disconnect all the cables from the LCD or the monitor, now just connect the power chord and power on the display and now see if it gives you any display

2. Try swapping the power chord with the tower (if its a desktop).

3. Try and change the VGA or the HDMI cable to test if the issue is with the cable or not, (the cable that usually goes from the back of the display to the tower)

If the issue is with video card then launch PSA on your Dell machine and perform LCD bist test.

To launch PSA:

1. Restart the system.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. At the Dell logo screen, press <F12>.
Note:
Some systems do not have an F12 key, to access the boot options you have to press the <0> (zero) key at the Dell logo screen.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. At the One Time Boot menu, press the <Down> arrow key to highlight Diagnostics, then press <Enter> to begin PSA.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Write down any error codes listed.

Steps to perform LCD BIST after PSA is launched:

1. Watch the screen and listen for the color bar test prompt tones emitted by the PSA Diagnostics. If the screen is visible, one will see the PSA diagnostics draw a series of multi-colored bars across the screen. When completed, a prompt asking if the pattern was seen appears, accompanied by a brief series of tones.

2. Press <N> or wait approximately 30 seconds to fail the color bar test.

3. Watch for the LCD BIST color generation and listen for the beeps every 2 seconds that indicate LCD BIST is running.
LCD BIST runs for approximately 20 seconds, then stops. The 3-3-3 or 3-3-4 error code is then displayed when the LCD BIST is complete. If LCD BIST does not initialize, then the system may not have been upgraded to PSA version 3019.
