Just had same problem with my kenmore elite trio model # 795.775436, still in the one year warranty with sear. Tech came out today and said the fusable link on the evaporator is blown and ordered control assy p/n 6615JB2005H. I found the part on ebay and it looks like a sensor. I don't know if he changed anything in the fridge yet but I don't have the error code on the door back and he has yet to replace this part. I am doing some looking at what the fusable link is.

Have the same problem. Unplugging the unit, waiting 3 minutes and then plugging it in again brings back the temperature settings, but then the next morning the error shows up again. This would seem to indicate that there is some switch setting that can be reset when power goes off, but that trips again when a particular sensor or such is called upon each day. Looks like I will need a part replaced.

My display panel shows "err if" if you unplug the unit and then plug it back in. The code stays away for a few hours. When the code is set the top refridg stops working. The freezer unit still works. Any ideas of what is wrong or how much to fix? My unit just expired on the 1 year warranty so i need to foot this bill.

I am having the same ER DH problem just 1 year/1 week in service. This seems to a common duration for these LG/Kenmore ER DH issues. Is there any way we can discover how many people are having the same issue, and if there perhaps was a recall on this? Very frustrating on the timeliness of the failure, and the failure at all. I have read in these forums that it is a thermostat issue, that requires a new motherboard. Sounds expensive. Has anyone successfully fixed this on their own? How did ya do it?

  • Anonymous May 10, 2008

Our Kenmore elite trio now has this sameer dH erroe issue and keeps getting this reading on the control pannel. Nothing works on the panel when it's there; temp adjustment, freezer adjust, etc. We've had this product less then two years. We pulled it out, cleaned the vents, unplugged it and then it appeard fine for a few hours then it's back. This represents a poor quality assurance issue for kenmore, and I would hope they're dealing with their customers to resolve this problem appropriately. We are equally frustrated there doesn't appear to be a solution or even a reference to this in the manual. What's being done to resolve this for customers, because I would personally I'l like to give it back to Sears/Kenmore.

I need instructions on where to put the part now that i have it in my possession. Does anyone know where i can get a diagram

I am also getting the eR dH error on the panel, My refrigerator is Kenmore elite Trio Model Number 795.77543600 and is 20 months old. The freezer unit works but the refrigerator section is not working. I have lost all the food stored... and it is frustrating to note that there might not be a simple solution ... no mention of this error in trouble shooting section... shows very poor customer care by Sears. --- SK

As I wrote earlier, I am getting the eR dH error for my Kenmore Elite Trio 795.77543600 bottom freezer refrigerator which is just 20 months old. After reading the messages on this site, I have ordered the part control assy p/n 6615JB2005H from Searspartsdirect.com and received the part yesterday. I will be getting the new part installed (replaced) today. Will keep you posted if this solves the eR dH error.

Also, could somebody help me by providing the steps to get this part replaced in detail? Thanks -- SK

  • Satish Kumar May 25, 2008

As I had promised here is my email notifying you all of the results of the part replacement....

As I stated, I faced the eR dH problem for Kenmore elite Trio Model # 795.77573600 bottom freezer refrigerator. The issue as pointed out by Medeer on fixya.com, turned out to be the part called component assembly, part number 6615JB2005H. I got this replaced yesterday but for 4 hours I did not notice any cooling in he refrigerator portion... so I thought it did not work.... but then in the morning I notice that the issue has been resolved, the refrigerator is cold (back to working condition) and there is no eR dH error message. Thanks to all who shared solutions/insights/pictures on this site.

My next task is going to be to fight for some kind of return for the hardship I faced --- I lost all my food and I was unable to use the refrigerator until I recieved the part from searspartsdirect.com.... esp. since the Kenmore is only 20 months old. Again, Sears customer service really sucks !! All they want is to sell their ridiculously high-priced warranties.

I have the same problem with the Kenmore Elite Trio. The display goes to er dh, we unplug it and it comes back on but only for a little while. I ordered the part that another person on this site reccomended. I have lost my entire refrigerator and freezer full of food. We returned from vacation to find it not working. I filed a complaint with Sears today, just to document it. Please, if you are also having a problem, file a complaint. Maybe they will recall it. It's a piece.

i have been getting an error message on my lcd panel of my kenmore elite refrigerator model #79577573600 that reads "Er FF". Does anyone have any idea what this means. Sears say's it will take two weeks before they can come out to see.

I purchased my elite trio in 2007 it has just passed the 1 yr mark . I've had a problem with the ice maker not making ice and freezing everything in the freezer to the point of ice cicles. Also when you open the french doors the temperture elevates to the point of overheating.

  • rakovic Oct 09, 2008

My fridge error is ER FF. I did notice ice on the back of the freezer as kids did not close tight. I defrosted the freezer got the ice off how do I now reset the frig?

  • rwilson674 Nov 11, 2008

I have the same problem as everyone else. First the ER IF (which means Error Icemaker Fan) I turned off the icemaker, unplugged the unit for about 30 mins. everything was fine for a couple of days. I did not turn the icemaker back on. Then I encountered a second error ER FF (which means Error Freezer Fan. Freezer door froze shut until the whole thing just stopped working. I lost everything in my freezer and refrigerator. I have it unplugged now with doors open to thaw everything. I am waiting on the last error ER DH from what I have read, it will be next most likely after I get it to work again and restock the darned thing.

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2009

I started to get the er ff code about a week ago I unplug and plug it back in and it is fine for a few hours. I normally unplug it twice a day. Today I got the er if code. I have to wait a few more days until I can get it fixed. Any ideas?

  • kittysqueen Apr 10, 2009

I have the kenmore trio elite frig #795.77573600 model and am having the same er ff error on the front panel. noticed initially that the frig did not cool but the freezer is fine. had to empty all my food out and relocate to old frig that is over 23 yrs old but still running great. now that i've seen all the problems with this frig i really regret getting it. I have always felt that the kenmore brand was the best and sears warranties as well but now i am very dissatisfied and wish i hadn't bought it. tried one of the posted solutions of turning off the ice cube unit and unplugged it and replugged. DAMM IT. it went back to the same code. waiting on service man. thank goodness i bought the extended service plan. does anyone know what it takes to get it replaced under the lemon law if it applies?????

I have the same problem, my TRIO kenmore fridge about 3 months ago had a problem with the fridge temp was not cool and some of the top shelve items were actually hot. We thought we left the fridge door open all nightbecause i noticed the bulb housing was extremely hot. I go it to stop and we hadn't had any problem since this last weekend when the er dh displayed. now the freezer is just fine but the fridge does not cool at all. I called Sears but being 18 months old the freide is not under warranty, so we scheduled a technician to come and he comes tomorrow. I did a google and found this site and I am seeing that this problem ihas happened to a lot of people. I am going to try and see if I can get sears to cover the costs.

  • Anonymous Apr 26, 2009

I have the same problem. Called Sears and the warranty is no longer valid. Purchased 18 mos ago. Seems to be a very common problem. I don't see a solution here. Is this something we can fix ourselves by purchasing a part. Luckily we have an extra (older) fridge that is in our garage and we can save the food in the fridge. Freezer still seems cold enough. Should be disconnect the ice maker? Is that what is causing the problem?

Refrigerator warm, display blank but freezer still works

The Er DH error code indicates the temperature sensor on the evaporator coil did not reach 50 degrees within one hour.
This would indicate the control board did put the refrigerator through a defrost cycle.

This problem could be caused by a defective relay on the control board, a defective defrost heater, a broken wire to the heater, or a stopped up drain on the defrost pan causing ice to form on the evaporator coil.

Before replacing the control board, someone should remove the food from the freezer, remove the freezer drawer, and remove the evaporator cover to expose the evaporator coil, heater, and defrost sensor.
The voltage to the defrost heater should be 120 volts ac.
The defrost heater is part of the evaporator coil and is not replaceable as a separate part.

You can test the operation of the defrost system by pressing "Ultra Ice" and "colder freezer temp" for 3 seconds.
The first time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and open the damper.

All displays should be on.

The second time you press and hold the buttons the board will test the compressor, fan, and close the damper.

The third time you press and hold the buttons, the board will turn the compressor and fan off and turn the defrost heater on for around 25 minutes. This would let you know if the defrost system is working.

Kenmore Elite Trio Error Message ER DH

This is a refrigerator manufactured by LG and is well known for this type of malfunction. There should be two 1/4 inch screws on the outside of the freezer drawer tracks near the front that will allow you to pull out the entire door assembly. Once this is done and the unit is fully defrosted and unplugged, there are a couple/few screws in the back freezer panel. Once the panel is removed, this part is located on the upper right side of the evaperator coils. It is sometimes wedged in tigtly but should pull out with a good tug. Unplug the white harness, remove defective part and reverse this process. Good luck and happy shopping for the shoes.

unplug the unit from the wall and re-plug it in and see if the display goes back to normal. It will stay that way untill the next defrost cycle and the code out again. Most likely there is a controller located on the right side of theevap that may need replacing. The code is saying there is a defrost problem.

This is an error code that pertains to the evaporator motor but could also be the main board.
If the evaporator motor is running, the main board will probably need to be replaced.
It could be a wiring problem but it's not very likely.

If the motor is not running, some voltage checks will need to be made, at the motor and board, to determine which component has failed.
These checks require a meter and can be difficult to make, even for a technician.
