Problem for Magellan eXplorist 400 GPS Receiver

One control button not working

The zoom button on my husband's 400 isn't working. I am trying to keep him from taking it apart and trying to "find the problem" himself. Would you recommend taking it to a licensed GPS repair place instead?

- I have same problem on a 500 I took apart no user servicable parts only a small plastic nub under rubber boot contacts 3 spots on circ board not sure any solution mine was not abused if anything under used ,,,waiting for fix

- Ditto on the 'out' zoom button. I still can use the unit for geocaching and such, but it's made using as a travelling gps almost useless. Has anyone contacted Magellan support about this yet? I'd be curious to hear the outcome.

- Same problem here, zoom button not working wich pretty much renders the unit useless except for speed, lat/long data, etc. I've reset the unit with no improvement.- Guest

Attempting to repair the buttom will compromise the units waterproof integrity. Contact magellans service dept.
