Question about Sony Audio Players & Recorders
I have a Sony Walkman NWZ-2615F and it will not power up, I have a USB cable for it and when I plug it in nothing happens.
I have tryed hitting the reset button and still nothing, also holding in the volume + button for 40 seconds.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had the same problem. For at least a week. Try pressing the reset button. The reset button won't delete your music, videos, pictures, etc. Just resets your system. If that does not work then i don't know what else to tell you.

I experienced exactly the same problem on my laptop (Vista Home Premium) after upgrading to NIS 2009.
From Control Panel, I went to Device Manager. Under Portable Devices there was a yellow exclamation mark aginst my walkman (Micosoft Code 19 error). I read around a bit before deciding to click Uninstall. Once that was complete, I clicked on Scan for hardware changes, and hey presto my walkman was recognised again.
This is almost certainly connected with NIS 2009 installation as my walkman was recognised by another laptop (XP) which is NIS 2009-free.

SOURCE: nwz-s515 won`t charge
Check for a reset option somewhere in the software, if after reset (or if there is no reset option) it still does not charge then the battery has died. You can call Sony for repairs, it may be under warranty still. If it needs repair head over to Sony's website for repair at:

I had a similar problem with my Sony NWZ-818 today and simply pressed the reset button with a pin to reboot the player (little hole on the side) and it worked!

okay, try plugging it in. Go to Startmenu, right click 'My computer', and select properties. Go to the 'Hardware' tab, then Device manager. Down at the bottom, you should see a section of the tree that can be expanded, entitled 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' Find the Unknown device part. Select that, then go to 'Action','Uninstall'. After un-installation, the computer might restart. Unplug your walkman. When windows is back up, plug it in, and see if that works. if not, I have an alternative solution
