Question about Frigidaire FEX831CS Top Load Stacked Washer/Dryer

Washer stopped working with clothes and water in it

I just put together a  medium sized load of laundry, the washer ran for a couple minutes and then stopped. The clothes and the water are just sitting there. I pushed the knob in and out again to see if that would help (it has done something like this in the past so I hoped it would work). The washer is part of a Frigidaire washer & dryer stackable - the dryer is working so I know the appliance is getting juice. A couple days ago I felted a knitted object which was in a zippered pillow case, the washer made some new squeaky noises when I did this - could it be related? This washer & dryer combo is only 3 months old. HELP!

If you try to wash too many items with the water level set to low it is hard on the drive sysem and will kick out the motor.
When the motor resets it should work again but its very bad for the motor so II would try not to do it again.
Good Luck

What is amount of water top loader use?

Just enough water to cover the clothes. As the clothes get wet, they will settle. The least amount of water needed to do the job will also save the amount of expensive laundry detergent. So regardless of the wash size setting, watch it and go to the next part of the cycle manually to avoid more water, and hence, more detergent needed. Only put enough detergent to make the water slippery, and no more. You can tell this by simply feeling the water and rubbing your thumb and fingers together.

Hello, at times when machine has completed final cycle laundry is still very wet. I must start a second spin cycle to remove access water. medium loads. thank you John

make sure the drain hose in the back is as high as the machine and is not being slowed down in any way. if the water is not getting pushed out fast enough this can cause thisto happen. another thing is you might be putting to much clothes in it try it on a large load but half full of clothes see how that works. good luck

Hello: I have a tenant who is having problems with a GE Spacemaker washer/dryer -Stylemaster # is 622866-A. Here is how she describes the problem: seems as though the washer isn't functioning...

If a spin and drain problem you can pull the front off to see if perhaps a small item (ie. sock or like size item) is stuck between basket and tub or in the drain hose? If it is a wash time problem that would be another direction.

I went to use it today and it wasn't working properly. i set the laundry in, put in the detergent, closed the door and then deposited my money and selected the cycle. the machine ran for 1 minute then...

yes, your guess is most likely correct. Problems on the water supply into the drum of the washing machine. you can check the start of the tap water, hoses and water inlet valve Selenoid. Hopefully help.

I tried a solution I found elsewhere - worked great. I had turned my drum enough to cause the display to turn on (a glitch in their program, I think), then I got the LE code on the next cycle.

Unplug for 10 minutes. Turn back on and press the Rinse & Spin button, then set Spin Speed to No Spin. Run this cycle, which should work fine. Afterwards, you should be able to run your machine as normal. If this doesn't work, replacing the Hall sensor would be the next step.

Drain Cycle doesn't drain right. Have to keep running the cycle to get water out.

sounds liker you have a pump/drain issue. ill assume that the technician removed the bottom acess panel and checked the "button trap" for foreign debris. if that was clear next i would check the hoses themselves, tub to pump hose may have something iin it. perhaps your drain hoseis clogged/ kinked. in some cases ive seen the pump sound as if its working but not pumping anywater out, in which case youll need to replace the pump.THis machine will not achieve high speed spin without draining adequate amount of water first. lastly you NEED to be using an HE detergent( specifically designed for front load washers)
