I cannot install Office 2007. Keep getting error message 1406. Set up cannot write the value to the registry Key/Sketch Obj. Sketch/nk. Verify that you have sufficent permission to access the registry.
Do I get to talk LIVE with someone? I paid for that service. Or, is this live?

Be very careful when you ask to edit the registry. becasue these are runing files for the operating system. any changes made to the regitry will affact the operation of the system.
to edit the registry. you need to backup the registry before you edit it. just in case something happen you should be able to reverse back.
to backup registry:type regedit in the run box. import & export. select the entire registry and export to a cd, usb, or floppy.then follwoing the direction below.to edit one line. no more, and do not play in the registry.
Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK. In Registry Editor , locate and then click the subkey that is listed by the error message. (in your case, it would be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesSketchObj.SketchInk) On the Edit menu, click Permissions. Under Group or user names, click Everyone.Under Permissions for Everyone, click to select the Full Control check box. Click OK. Quit Registry Editor. Run the Setup program for your Office program.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have this prob while installing the ms office 2007 set up . it says office.en-us%2Fdwtrig20.exe cannot be found

Dear i have send a information by solving your problem please read this and install the ms officfe 2007.
Thanks.

I have had a monster of a time attempting to install Office 2007 Professional. I am attempting to install on a machine running Microsoft Vista Ultimate. I have received a variety of error codes and installation failure messeges. I have used every version of Windows and Office since Windows 3.1 and Office 95. I even work in the computer field. This is the most fustrating experience I have ever had. I even broke down and called Microsoft Support. I spent 3 days being shuffled between the Vista team to the Office team, back to the Vista team, back to the Office team...you get the picture. Microsoft has thrown the regular consumer to the wolves (or India). I worked in desktop and application support (including Microsoft products) for many years. The Microsoft (India) support that I received was the most incompetent that I have had the dis-pleasure of working with EVER!!! As someone who works in IT, let me say that for me to call any other support person, I have to be at an impass or something that is totally out of the norm.

I have wiped my machine and re-installed everything approximately 4 times without success. I am in the process getting another Test machine to make ABSOLUTELY sure that there is no strange hardware incompatibility issue that could be causing m

Problem in reinstalling Office 2007

If you want to recover the notebook back to day 1, it's not an F8 option. It's another F key, perhaps F11. If you're trying to do a Windows restore, that's done inside of Windows using one of the system tools under Accessories.

No Has Been Able To Solve This Office 2007 Pro Problem, Can You?

Hi,
The problem is the feature you tried istalling might have corrupted the OS. What you can try doing is create new user account first , restart your computer into the new user computer and then try installing. If the same still doesnot work , then my friend the only solution would be to reinstall windows xp and then put office 2007.

Thanks

Office 2007 Install Problems

It can be very aggravating to reinstall Office; you probably need to use the free removal tool that Microsoft provides for situations like yours. It may have nothing to do with Office 2007 and everything to do with whatever else you added via Add/Remove Programs. My best advice is patience; Office12 is huge, and takes a long time to put all its junk in there; Microsoft will walk you through it if you have patience with their tech support folks and time to wait on hold to reach someone. The good news is they get paid to sit with frustrated folks like you. If you can be more sprcific what the error message(s) say(s) that will help whomever could help you get to the root cause of your issue(s).
