your service tag has numbers, that tell any HP person what you have. unstated by you.
did you look in the device manager first see it show there?
did you upgrade some old 10 year old laptop to w10 then the sd slot is dead, as mine was, ? and fixed it by forcing w7 SD driver
onto 10? ask if hardware is there, we can make it work
run hwinfo32.exe for free scan the PC see if the SD is there?
Open computer window and check the drives to see if any show your card. If so double click to open, if not, check device manager to make sure the drivers are installed for your portable devices. On the start menu, right click computer and click manage, in the left pane under computer click device manager and look for portable devices in the main window. Check there is no yellow or red icon next to it, if there is you will need to install a new driver.
Try uninstalling your pcmcia drive in device manager and then restart the laptop and let windows reinstall it. With the pci wifi card out of the slot of course. Then once the laptop is started back up and the slot is reinstalled by windows reinsert your wifi card and reload the proper driver.
Good Luck.
that is a problem with your DIAL-up modem which is the old style, use your phone and dialin type of internet connection. so basically if you're on high speed you dont really need it, you can right click and disable. if the modem is in a desktop in a pci slot, you can actually just remove it all together. code 10 means the device wont start either due to hardware failure or bad drivers...but again, its a dialup modem and oyu're on highspeed so you dont even need it.
Have a look into the device manager, right click my computer, select manage, then on the left side of the management window click on device manager, plug in the sd, do you see any ? or ! or yellow marks or unknown devices that a driver would be missing from or malfunctioning?
Try to put your sd card to the slot, and check device manager.
check if there is yellow question mark on the device manager.
if it is, it's driver problem, just update the driver.
if not, try with another sd card and if this still not working, it's your sd card slot has problem.
