Craftsman 2200PSI pressure washer, part #580.752700 dies when trigger off.

NEVER start an engine on a power washer with pump attached. You will damage pump and get no or very little pressure. Replacing pump only fix. Pump for this washer about $49. Check spring on carb for throttle open/close

Pull Cord Stops...

could be valve needs set. if it isn't opening at the right time it wont release compression for it to start. it may be the shear key in the flywheel has sheared if you have hit something like a big rock or log or something causing it to die suddenly.

Engine died after we pulled over and wont start again. we put oil in and still nothing?

Check basics first, fuel, coolant, oil. Note if engine is hot wait for it to cool before adding any fluids. If starter does not work check battery or try to jump start engine.

86 ford f-150 xlt with a 302 5.0 v8 wont start until i put starter fluid into it it will start then dies right away only runs when i pump the gas then dies again i changed the spark plugs and plug wires...

If it runs when you spray starter fluid in you know the ignition system and all related systems are working. On an '86 you have an in-take electric fuel pump. You need to confirm that it runs and that it is supplying adequate fuel pressure in the system.

210 2 stroke leaf blower it starts when choked and idles when choked but when i pull the throttle trigger it cuts off. I cleaned the air filter and replaced the plug.

hi mike. most likely problem is junk in the carburator. Get a can of starter fluid and an assistant. Remove the air filter. Start it up and before you pull the throttle have your assistant squirt the starter fluid into the air intake. Use more starter fluid as needed to keep it running for about 2 minutes to clear it. I need a wire diagram for a 1981 harley davidson superglide for the starter wireing

The wiring is simple for a starter. You have a starter solenoid on the bike and a starter relay. When you press the button to start your bike, the button has a wire that runs to the relay. This triggers the coil in the relay and pulls the contacts in. You have three wires that run to the relay for the starter. One hot wire, a trigger wire from the starter button and a wire from the relay to the solenoid. When you press the button, the relay pulls in and makes the wire going to the solenoid "Hot".

The solenoid has three wires going to it. The large battery cable goes to the "long post" of the solenoid, There's another battery cable going to the starter from the bottom of the solenoid, The wire from the starter relay goes to the small terminal of the solenoid. The small wire from the starter relay is the trigger wire for the starter solenoid. When this wire goes hot, it magnetizes the solenoid and pulls the plunger inward. The plunger bridges two large contacts in the solenoid to put high current voltage to the starter.

If you need a schematic, contact me directly at wd4ity@bellsouth.net. I cannot send a file via this medium but I can direct e-mail. Remind me of what you need when you contact me.

Good Luck
Steve

Echo hedge trimmers, won't start put a little fuel in the throttle body it starts then dies out> i think its not getting fuel< and the fuel to air ratio is off

Hello. Do this. Go to the auto parts store or even a walmart and purchase a can of starting fluid. Spray some starter fluid into the air intake and start it up. Then keep giving it short blasts of starter fluid for a couple of minutes until it takes off on the gasoline. Joe

Won't start

I have the same model chainsaw, and sometimes it's very difficult to start. If you pull the plug and it's wet, with the plug still out pull the starter rope about ten times to clear out the excess gas. Dry the plug and put it back in and try to start it with the choke off. If it fires up, be ready to put the choke on if it starts. I forgot to mention that before starting you should pull in the trigger, push down the button on top of the handle, and hold it down while releasing the trigger. This sets the trigger so that it is on slightly. If it doesn't start, pull in the trigger and give it a few pulls that way. If it doesn't start, pull the plug again and see if it is wet. If it's dry, put the choke on and try to start it. If it still doesn't start, pull the plug, pour a few drops of gas in through the plug hole, replace the plug and try to start it with the choke on. If it still won't start, get a Stihl chainsaw.
