Boot from usb

Introduction UNetbootin allows you to create bootable Live USB drives for Ubuntu, Fedora, and other Linux distributions without burning a CD. It runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. You can either let UNetbootin download one of the many distributions supported out-of-the-box for you, or supply your own Linux .iso file if you've already downloaded one or your preferred distribution isn't on the list.
Requirements
  • Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7, or Linux, or Mac OS X 10.5+. Note that resulting USB drives are bootable only on PCs (not on Macs).
  • Internet access for downloading a distro to install, or a pre-downloaded ISO file
Features UNetbootin can create a bootable Live USB drive, or it can make a "frugal install" on your local hard disk if you don't have a USB drive. It loads distributions either by downloading a ISO (CD image) files for you, or by using an ISO file you've already downloaded.

The current version has built-in support for automatically downloading and loading the following distributions, though installing other distributions is also supported:

Tip

Create a new bootable CD for your Slipstreamed Windows XP using NeroROM

After you have slipstreamed the latest service pack 3 and all hotfixesin order to use this to perform a new install you will need to eitherburn a new CD or use the ISO mounted to perform it using a VirtualMachine for testing purposes.

The easiest way is to use Nero Burning ROM to create a Bootable CD you will need to follow these instructions

  1. Obtain the Microsoft Corporation Bootable image file (IMG) extract and save it using ISOBuster from an ISO image of the original Windows CD
  2. Open NeroROM and select CD-ROM Bootable option then select the image file you extracted in 1.
  3. Make the window look like the screen dump below, ensure that you select No Emulation and change the Load Segment ofsectors to #07C0 and the No.of Loaded sectors to 4
  4. Then select New
  5. You will need to add all the files from the folder that you have just slipstreamed the SP3 + post hotfixes
  6. I suggest that you save the project as GRTMHOEM_EN forWindows XP Home and GRTMPROF_EN for the Professional Version so thatyou can use it later for the same folder
  7. Press Burn, I suggest low burn speed X4 when using the Nero ASPI or create an ISO using Nero and the burn it using Patin-Couffin Interface option on ImageBurn with my AWS that includes 80% of all readily available media.

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

insert a bootable xp cd into the cd drive and hit enter continuosly...it ll ask to hit any key to continue from cd...hit any screen and follow the onscreen instructions...

if it doesnt works, try this....
u can log in to the setup by pressing del key or F2(depends upon make and model) and change the drive booting order...change the first booting device as CD/DVD and second booting device to HDD...
now it ll prompt you to hit any key to start from CD/DVD....
Make sure you have inserted a bootable XP CD in CD drive....Bootable XP CD's can be created only from another bootable XP cd by taking an image from that cd and writing it back to the cd...you can use NERO Copy disc option for this purpose...it ll create an iso image and you can use only this to write into the disc...

DISC DRIVER BROKEN ,NEED TO PROGRAM WEBCAM TO PC

I was trying to help getting the drivers online but for that camera it seems to be tricky.

I would suggest the following:

in another computer attempt to create an image file of your driver cd as you mentioned you still have it (I strongly suggest you don't lose it), then with a usb thumb drive move that image into the vista computer (the one that does not have the disc tray working). now for you to create a image iso file on the other computer (virtual image of your cd) you need nero or magiciso or another program to create iso files from a cd, now to read that image on your cd-trayless computer you can use a program called magic disc.

there are other programs you can use to make iso image files that are free

free alternatives to nero

magic disc
- this is free and it will create a virtual cd drive on your computer without cd tray, you just need to mount the iso file you created with the other programs and it will work like a cd drive so you can installation cd without ever inserting the actual cd.

good luck!

I Wanted To Make a BOOT CD For Windows XP But The Problem is That I Have Windows Vista and i Dont Know What To Do So What Can i Do

How to make a bootable Windows Vista ISO DVD media
  1. Put all 3 downloaded files (namely install.wim, boot.wim and an executable X13-49120.exe) in the same folder (for this tutorial, let’s assume the files are put on C:\ else you need to modify the path accordingly).
  2. Run the X13-49120.exe executable. Windows Vista Setup Preparation will create a new folder “Vista” inside the folder and will populate the folder with all necessary Vista setup files which takes up about 2.52 GB disk space.
  3. Exit from the Install Windows screen.
  4. Download CDimage 2.52.
  5. Extract CDimage from CDimage.zip to the C:\ root directory.
  6. Open a command prompt shell, and run the following command: cdimage.exe -lVISTA_EN_DVD -m -u2 -bC:\Vista\boot\etfsboot.com C:\Vista\ C:\Vistax86.iso
Bootable Windows Vista x86 DVD ISO image in UDF format will be created as vistax86.iso in C:\ or any folder you specified above.
  7. Burn the newly create ISO with a CD/DVD burning software such as Nero or Alcohol 120%. Try to burn at low speed (i.e. 4X) and turn on verification to ensure that the DVD creation is fine.
Visit here for illustrative guide on using CDImage GUI version to make the bootable DVD ISO.

Create a Windows Vista ISO image and DVD with Oscdimg
Another possible way to create a bootable Vista ISO and DVD is by using Oscdimg CD-ROM and DVD-ROM Premastering Utility, available via WinPE (Windows Preinstallation Environment) via Business Desktop Deployment 2007 or Windows Automated Installation Kit (AIK).
  1. Complete step 1 – 3 as above.
  2. In the command prompt window, run the following command: oscdimg -bC:\Vista\boot\etfsboot.com -h -u2 -m -lVISTA_EN_DVD C:\Vista\ C:\VistaDVD.iso
A VistaDVD.iso UDF DVD image will be created and can be used to boot the computer from DVD to install Vista.
  3. Burn the ISO image file by using last step above.
Visit the guide to create Vista bootable DVD using vLite.
Note: For 64-bit Windows Vista, download etfsboot.com and put it into “\Vista\boot” folder. Or users using WAIK (WinPE), the etfsboot.com can be found at %Programfiles%\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools\amd64\boot\ folder. So simply replace -bC:\Vista\boot\etfsboot.com with -bC:\Program Files\Windows AIK\Tools\PETools\amd64\boot\etfsboot.com when making 64-bit Vista DVD image.

Unable to install XP in CQ60-104tu compaq Presario

You may find that if you insert a blank CD instead of DVD you have more luck (the image you have created is a CD image not a DVD image). Another tip is that you should not copy the ISO image to CD but using Nero burn image to disk. Let me know if you need more help.
