### What are the deminsions for a sealed box for a ten inch 1100 watt sony xplod xs-l101p5w?

The unit only requires .5 Cubic feet of volume for the enclosure. It would be best to figure out how much space you have to work with and then make a box to fit that space. If not measure the whole front of the speaker across the face. Allow 1/2 to one inch on either side. Lets say it is 12 inches. You need 14 to mount it easily, you can use less though. So you now know that your box has to be 14x14 length and width. Measure the distance from the magnet to the edge of the rim of the front. Lets say 5 inches, you now have 14x14x5. That comes to 980 cubic inches. To convert to feet you divide 980 by 1728 which is .56 cubic feet and that would be enough.. Measure (inside area, not the outside), make sure there is clearance for the magnet on the back so it is not touching the bottom of the box you need.

### How do I build a box for 4 15" black Mombasa

Where do you want to put the box? What are the Thiele Small parameters for the drivers? What kind of music do you listen to? What kind of woodworking expertise do you have? I'll try to look up the factory specs for "Black Mombosa" 15 inch woofers (is this it? http://www.amazon.com/Q-POWER-BM15D4-Black-Magnet-Subwoofer/dp/B00C86R2VY), but still need answers to the other questions before I can even start to help.

### I need to know the deminsions to build a box for my rfl mtx 15

If it is an open air sub ( hole with mesh in the center of the magnet) no ports are required, and the box should be sealed on the inside with silicone sealant. If it is a closed air sub ( no hole in the magnet) you need a 50mm port about 120mm long Box size will be 16 inches x 16 inches x 16 inches

### How much air space

Air space needed around the sub is a minimum of 1 inch, but 3-7 is preferred. If you get too big you can get an echo sound. Sealed is my preferred box - it generally gives you the deep base thumping you are probably looking for.

### I am building a custom box for 2 15 inch Kicker L7's. These will go in the trunk of an 04 Impala. Do I need 4 or 5 cubic feet per chamber in a ported box? Also, what size port should I use? and how long? I...

Hello bgl6176,

According to their specs, the L7's will work in a ported enclosure with as little as 3 CuFt and up to 6 CuFt. Usually with ported, bigger is better, so let's use the 5 CuFt per chamber. I'm assuming that you have room for a 10 CuFt box in the trunk? That's a big box? Almost half as big as a medium sized refrigerator. I hope you don't plan on putting your golf bags in there too. For 10.15 CuFt, a box will need to be 36X29X20, allowing 0.15 for the partition, sub, and port displacement.

To tune each chamber to 30Hz, you need a 4" diameter port 4.6" in length. Lots of custom builders use PVC and even ABS pipe for round ports. You can also buy "pretuned" ports from sites like www.partsexpress.com.

You'll have to measure the exact room that you have available and then adjust the dimensions accordingly.

Here's a link to a great site for calculating almost anything in box building and subwoofer related. You can use the old "multiply LxWxD and divide by 1728" and the other formulas too, but here you can plug the figures in and immediately see the results.

Hope this helps.

### Box dimensions for 15 in cerwin vega

do you want the box ported or unported (holes or no holes) if you don't got a lot of room than you dont want a ported box. keep in mind the box has to have the correct amount of cubic air space or you could seize your sub... if you're building it make sure you use OSB board (oriented strand board) or MDF board(medium density fiber) your sub needs .7cubic feet of air space in an unported box

### What is the sealed and ported box volumes for the audiobahn dub 200 subs?

If you can access the inside of the sub box by removing the speaker, you may be able to measure the 3 dimension of each side of the enclosure.  1 cubic foot is 12x12x12 inches cubed.  That is 1728 cubic inches per cubic foot.  If you measure the inside dimensions of one of the enclosure sides as 10x14x8 inches, then that is 1120.  1120 divided by 1728 is 0.648 cubic feet.  Alternatively, you could estimate the volumes of each side of the box by measure the outside, figuring out where the box divider board is, subtracting the width of the boards used to make and then calculate.  Otherwise, I do not know the enclosure that that sub comes in.  Good luck.  Let us know how it goes.
