Need more information to really help you. Are you playing movies in the DVD/CD player of the laptop? Are you playing movies by streaming from Netflix or Amazon or Hulu or Xfinity? Are you playing movies from an external hard drive or flashdrive plugged into an older USB 2.0 port?
Your wi-fi connection may be too slow to stream without freezing. Your cpu/processor may be too old and slow to handle HD video. Your video/graphics chip built-in to the laptop may be old and not capable of handling HD quality video.

My dvd player plays movies in slow motion?

Check your remote that it is set in standard play mode speed, if okay! the problem is in the pladder motor that spins the disc. It is cheaper to replace the player rather than have it repaired.

Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital Camera I used this camera to take movies. When I play it back on the camera and after downloading to my computer, it plays as if it's set for fast forward and there's no...

Check your camera settings in movie mode for the correct settings for time lapse, normal, slow motion and fast motion. A slow recording memory card will not produce your problem but will take longer to save the file. If you shot the movie in PAL and played it on an NTSC TV, the picture would be in black and white with no sound and vice versa. ALWAYS format the memory card in the camera, never on a PC

Sound is fine on full episodes but pic is in slow motion

In order to provide better help we need to know what file format and if it's a ripp off a dvd.

In some cases mp4 for example, the sound will be off from the movie in most players except for quicktime, which is the main player for that file type.

You can try K-Lite Codec Pack
It comes with media player classic which works well for a lot of formats where others have problems.

Movie download

Hi.

The S3 and other canons record AVIs as Motion JPEGS.

they should play in media player, but you may need to download a codec.

I use VEMoDe, a free movie converter. this may work for you. For playing on the PC I recommend the "Pocket PC' or Pocket PC VGA setting.

Thanks.

I have a canon SD 580. When I playback the video clip it's always in fast forward mode and I can't play it normal speed. Any help?

Make sure you are shooting your movies in "Standard" mode. If you have the mode set to something else, especially "Time Lapse", the playback may not match 'natural' motion.

In any case, you can control the speed of the playback. When you first enter the movie playback mode, there should be a movie control bar along the bottom of the LCD. Instead of the "Play" button, select the "Slow Motion Playback" button (single arrow with single bar next to the normal Play button), and control the speed with the left or right arrows on the multi-controller.
