Try checking the water in the battery and see if the connections are clean. This requires removing the ends and sanding them. Also check oil level in the motor just in case. Then charge the battery or jump-start it, if it starts then you have a weak battery or an alternator that is bad or a loose wire, the nuts will vibrate off if blades are out of balance. Also check the starter bolts as they may have come loose as well. If you still need help replay tothe e-mial this came with.

If you have a battery charger, charge the battery. You can determine if the starter is good by by-passing the solenoid and jump starting the starter. First make sure all connections are clean and tight- from the battery to solenoid, to starter and make sure the negative cable is connected to a clean part of the frame.
To jump start the starter take a jumper cable (car jumpers) and connect one red end to the battery Positive Terminal of the battery, and connect the other red clamp to the large terminal of the starter. You can just momentarily bump the starter, by just hitting the clamp. Or do the opposite -connect one clamp to starter and bump the pos. terminal on the battery. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GROUND OUT THE CLAMP ON THE STARTER BODY! If the starter works and turns the engine over, the problem is the solenoid If the engine does not turn over as it should, then the starter is bad..

yes, start motor spins (humms) but crank shaft is dead.
bad starter solenoid.
to prove that jump start car, fail, bad starter/solenoid.
acid test is hotwiring the solenoid, ask.

Starter just clicks

it's a bad starter or solenoid

2002 Suburban clicks when trying to start.

Yes it could be your starter the fact that you hear the click tells you that the starter solenoid is in fact working. Do check your connections for looseness or corrosion prior to starter replacement and fix as needed. Possibly has a dead spot on the starter that won't allow starter motor to turn even though the solenoid engages.

I was riding the tractor mowing shut it off to get lunch returned 1 hr later would not start. I bought a new battery and had the starter checked all good still wont start. I get a click when i turn the key...

The starter solenoid sounds to be bad. Follow the + cable from the starter and it will lead to the solenoid. This is usually about $10. The battery produces power to the solenoid which then produces power to kick the starter over. The clicking is the contacts in the solenoid you are hearing.

WMSD2756GES Clicking, slight burnt smell, humming then repeats

Replace the overload relays down at the compressor. Easy repair and too expensive. Do this and you'll be good to go.

Was mowing, shut it off for 1 minute. won't crank now. slight clicking at solenoid, that's all. tried new battery, new solenoid, new ign switch. all safety switches are bypassed except for clutch

make sure battery has correct Cold Cranking Amps -- 275 or more is probably better. May also have to replace starter.

I had the same symptoms, and it turned out the battery's cold cranking amps were to low, and I burned out the starter cranking it over with such a week battery.
