Sounds like it needs new bearings, take it to a pool professional.

New polygroup 2000 gph pump is loud

firstly, don't be so certain that doubling your pumping capacity isn't damaging other parts of your pool system. Excessive flow reduces filter efficiency, can cause hyper chlorination, and cause faster degradation of the plumbing and pool surfaces.

a noisy pump typically indicates poor lubrication on bearings and bushings in the pump assembly, or misalignment of those parts. Things like this happen.

Either replace the pump (and i recommend going back to the original design specs) or rebuild it, using new bushings / bearings, high quality lubrication, and be certain that the drive shaft is perfectly straight, and that the bushings allow it to spin freely.

Is it a mistake to not replace pool pump bearings?

If they are noisy Yes also replacement of the pump seal is very important. We recomend replacement of the seal every 2 years if pumps is used to vacuum pool.

Spa pump k55mygrd-8367

Most common and likely situation with this,... mechanical pump shaft seal has failed. This allowed water to enter into the electrical motor and lubrication from the front bearing had been washed away. The purpose of the shaft seal is to keep the water OUT of the motor!
Now as motor spins, bearings with less lubrication gets a lot hotter!
And... When metal gets hot, it gets soft! What was once perfectly round and lubricated, is now getting oblong or square and not lubricated. Square bearings don't spin well and are not as quiet as round bearings! Hence your loud noise. Oil on the shaft will do nothing. You either need to replace both bearings, front and back, and absolutely replace the shaft seal or, replace the motor and the shaft seal.

My Emerson motor model k63cxese 4792. It is making a loud noise. I was told the capacitor might be bad. Does anyone know how to replace the capacitor? Thank you

Capacitors don't make noise. The purpose of a capacitor, is to provide a jumpstart to assist the motor to begin spinning. What makes a pool motor noisy, is bad bearings. At one point or another is possible that your mechanical pump shaft seal had failed, and allow the water to enter the electric motor, and wash away the lubrication in the front bearing.

either replace the bearings or the motor.

Oil a ao smith motor

NO Lubrication available!
They have 'Sealed' bearings.
So if the motor is loud, they (bearings) either need to be replaced, or the motor needs replaced.

I have Hayward Centurian SE 2 hp pool motor pump, around 15 years old. Just the other day it started making a loud whining noise. Is there a quick fix for this?

if its whining but still spinning, the bearings are done. If it just makes a loud noise, the capacitor could be bad or the bearings have seized.

My challenger 3/4 pump has started to sound louder and louder.

Replace the motor bearings before they fail completely and ruin the motor.
