Question about Uniden DECT 6.0 Cordless Telephone Expansion Handset

1 Answer

Dialtone, but no dialing

I have dial tone on an Uniden DECT208-2 I dial and instead of calling, the dial tone persist. I can receive calls, but on the other line they can barely hear what I say.

If switched to pulse, dial again, the call goes through but people can hardly hear what I say, it is very dim as well.

The phone started having trouble 2 weeks before the anniversary (1 year warranty), One day before I called support at 4:30 and there was a message saying that working hours are 4-5 central time (I am on central time), try again at a later time ! No support over the phone, and I can't find support on UNIDEN.com either.

The telephone company came and they say the line is fine.

Why no dial tone. Only static?

Check the phone line were it comes into the house there is usually a point where the phone connection from the the TELCO outside wires connects to the inside wiring.
Remove the inside wiring and test the wiring that is on the TELCO side. If you get dialtone the trouble is in the inside wire. If you don't get dialtone call TELCO

My phone says check Tel Line

Sounds like your telephone line might be dead. If you have a gray or tan telephone box on the outside of your house you can plug your phone in there to test the line. If you get dialtone then thrers a problem in your house wiring, if you don't get dial tone then the line is dead and you need to conact your telco provider.

DIAL TONE CONTINUES DOES NOT CEASE

Have you tried plugging and then plugging the phone back in. This should discharge all static electricity.
I had the same trouble once. If you are using a service such as Comcast Digital Voice, then restart all equipment (this apply's to VOIP services also). if it still persist then try a different phone. If it still persist then contact your phone company and explain all the solutions that you have tried.

Activating Call Forwarding

You can activate Call Forwarding whenever you want your calls to be sent to another phone, including a mobile phone. Once activated, all your calls will be sent to the forwarding number you request. Each time a call is forwarded, you will hear one short reminder tone on your home phone, but you will not be able to answer the call from your home number.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press *7 2.
In some areas you must use 72#
Dial 1172 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. At the tone, dial the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.

4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.

5. Hang up the receiver.

Deactivating Call Forwarding

Turn Call Forwarding off when you want to receive calls on your home phone.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press * 73.
In some areas you must use 73#
Dial 1173 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. Listen for two short tones.
Call Forwarding is now off and you will receive your calls at your home number.
