Need to know what moves the thing that holds the tubes on the machine

It is called the "cigarette holder" and has a replaceable "rubber bumper" on the end. Powermatic will send you a new one if you call when it does not hold the paper on as well as new.

if you take the serger to a sewing machine shop and show them the problem, they can check to see if the needle holder needs to be replaced or just some new screws

Printer head going one side and given beep

IF the jammed paper tears and you cannot remove the paper either from the paper output slot or from the transport unit, or the jammed paper remains inside the machine, remove the paper following the procedure below. 1. Turn off the machine, and unplug the power cord of the machine from the power supply. 2. Open the paper output cover. Remove the paper on the front tray if any.
Important:
Do not touch the clear film (A). If the paper or your hands touch these parts and blot or scratch them, the machine can be damaged.

3. Make sure that the FINE cartridge holder does not hang over the paper. If the FINE cartridge holder hangs over the paper, move the FINE cartridge holder to the right edge or the left edge whichever is easier to remove the paper. When you move the FINE cartridge holder, hold the FINE cartridge holder and slide it slowly to the right edge or the left edge.
4. Hold the jammed paper with your hands.
If the edge of paper is jammed near the paper output slot, pull the edge of paper to the position where you can hold it with your hands.
5. Pull the paper slowly not to tear it, then pull the paper out.

6. Make sure that all the jammed paper is removed. If the paper is torn, a piece of paper may remain inside the machine. Check the following and remove the piece of paper if it remains.
7. Close the paper output cover, then reload the paper.
All print jobs in the queue are canceled. Reprint if necessary.

My date and time not update it always return back?

Hello Jennybabe,
I believe that your motherboard may need a new battery for internal clock. When your turn the computer, it takes a long time to boot up would indicate that the BIOS system is loosing it's internal stored data including the time and date. First unplug the power cable from your computer. Look on the motherboard for a sliver colored coin shaped battery. It usually is toward the rear of the motherboard, The battery will be mounted in a holder with two spring arms to hold it down. Look on the side of the battery facing up. It will have a number on that starts with the letters "CR" and some numbers, perhaps 2330. So the whole number would read "CR2330". Purchase the new battery from a computer shop or from Radio Shack, sometimes a drugstore will have them. Remove the old battery by placing a fingernail on one of the spring arms and pushing it open. Now use a fingernail on the the other hand to lift the the old battery out of the holder. Do not force, if all is right the battery will just lift rout easily. This is slightly complicated and can be frustrating at first. Now take the new battery, holding it by the sides, slide it into the holder toward the bottom of the holder. When the battery is firm to the bottom of the holder press the upper edge of the battery down into the spring loaded arms. They will snap into position and hold the battery into position. Now replug the power supply cord into the power supply. Reassemble the machine and turn it on. Reset the time and date and use the machine for a while. now turn the machine off and wait through one of your favorite movies. Now turn the machine back on and verify that the machine does not stop for time and date entry. If it does that the clock section of the motherboard is damaged. If this happens then the only solution is to replace the motherboard. If there are further problems please retunr here and post them. Hope that this helps.

Trying to put in a new paper roll

Turn off the Sharp EL-1801V.

  • 2 Cut the end of the replacement paper roll for a fresh edge and to ensure a smooth feed. Do not tear the paper roll, as feeding a torn paper roll can cause a paper jam.
  • 3 Insert the cut edge into the paper opening on the back of the Sharp EL-1801V. Hold the paper roll so that the edge being fed into the machine is coming from the bottom of the roll. Turn the power on.
  • 4 Press the "Feed" button until the paper is fed through the unit. Lift the metal paper roll holder up. Slide the paper roll onto the paper-roll holder.

I have a siplicity sewing machine and after taking the bobbin out to clean it I cannot get the bobbin holder to go back intot the machine

I had a similar problem and Rick on this site was kind enough to give me some advice. Lay the machine on its side so you can just place the bobbin mechanism pieces into the bobbin shuttle area. Put the small half moon shaped piece in first, then lay the round piece in with the little notch at the bottom. Loosen the screws that hold the arms that hold the bobbin shuttle in and position them over the small 'bumps' on the bobbin housing. Once you have the arms in position, tighten till firm (not enough to strip the screws) and then set the machine upright and insert the bobbin case with thread.

I really hope I've helped you like Rick did for me.
