Can't uninstall old driver and therefore can't install new

I got the "Zengine stopped working" error from the moment I installed from the CDROM on my Vista 32 machine. I went to the website and was instructed by their FAQ to manually delete all the files in the ZEngine folder and then to download and run the new Vista 32 drivers. So I did, emptying the Recycle Bin (like a fool) in case the files in there would muck things up. But after following the faq instructions to the letter, I was greeted with a new error when I tried to install the updated driver, words to the effect that another version was already installed and therefore I couldn't install this version. Now, that usually only happens when the existing version is newer that what I'm trying to install, so I was baffled. The error told me to run uninstall from Control Panel, but of course with all the files now deleted, uninstall would not perform the task. Control Panel DOES see a version of ZEngine still on my machine, but when I ask it to uninstall, it tells me it can't run KillZEngineDll.dll and says to shut it down from Task Manager. The first time I went into TM, sure enough, ZEngine was "running" so I killed the process. No change in my results and since then, ZEngine still shows up in my control panel list of programs I could uninstall (but can't really), but not in task manager's applications or processes. So, I can't delete the old (even from the CDROM, same error), can't reinstall the old from the CDROM (same error as the patch: existing file already on machine) and can't install the patch. I even hacked my registry (clumsily), deleting all references to ZEngine -- and many remained, of course, after blindly carrying out the faq's stupid manual delete directions; but nothing is different. Can't uninstall, and can't install.

Besides throwing the damn thing out the window, what do I do?

Oops, sorry it's not the MERC, it's the SteelSeries ZBoard for WOTLK, but the problem is likely the same across all models.

My cdrom drive worked 2 months ago and now it doesn't whats wrong?

I would try uninstalling it, rebooting, and let windows try to install it again.... Right Click My Computer, go to properties Then select Device Manager Under CD Rom Devices, right click your CDROM and uninstall. Reboot If windows picks it up, loads drivers, you should be back in business. If this does not help the situation, the drive is bad. They do not last forever, and that is an old machine.

Z engine not working

Q: I get the Error “Z Engine has stopped working"
A: This error is caused by a conflict between Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and the previous version of the Z Engine.

You can resolve this issue by updating to the latest Z Engine. Here is how:

Make sure you have administrative rights to your computer. Please make sure your device is connected during these steps. Please try the following to see if it helps (WARNING: this will delete your Custom Mods):

- Uninstall the Z Engine software by going to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add remove Programs
- Reboot computer
- Delete the following folders (WARNING: this will delete your Custom Mods):

1) C:\Program Files\Ideazon\Z Engine\
a) If you have Windows 2000 or XP:
Click Start->Run and type “%appdata%" then click "Ok"
Find the Ideazon folder and find the Z Engine folder. Delete the Z Engine folder

b) If you are using Windows Vista:
Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run)
and type “%appdata%" then click "Ok"
Find the Ideazon folder and find the Z Engine folder. Delete the Z Engine folder

- Re-install the latest Z Engine drivers:

You should have a green Z Engine icon on your system tray which means your device should work properly.

C++ Runtime Error for Dell Photo AIO 962 printer dlbxmon.exe

I had the same problem and was able to fix it by following the instructions in this link:

Apparently, the regular uninstall procedure does not completely uninstall the software drivers. Then, if new drivers or software are installed, a conflict is created between the old drivers and the new drivers. You have to first run the DellXPCleanUpUtility to completely clean out the old software drivers. Then, you can install the new drivers successfully.

CanĀ“t install my photosmart C3180 on my Windows XP

Hope this helps. Be sure the USB port at BIOS setting are enable. And also, you have to update the USB device or uninstall the unknown error (it may contain missing USB driver). Restart the computer and place your motherboard CD installer in the CDROM browse the folder where the USB driver is located. You have to resolve first this error before proceeding to next possible steps. Another way of installing printer or any USB devices; Dettached first the USB cable connecting to PC or laptop, Install the driver (CD installer) when prompt to connect the USB cable connect the cables and turn the printer on, browse manually where the file being looked and is located.

Best regards,
Rosener Guyano
