Please be specific about the problem you are having.

    • Are you trying to install two batteries (one in each bay), but only one is being recognized ? (They normally don't come with a 2nd battery).

    • When you "go setup", are you referring to the BIOS setup menu (pressing F2 during boot) ?

    • What "BIOS version" are you using (look under "system info" ?

The D610 second battery is installed in the slot occupied by the CD Rom.
This is an additional omponent that can be purchased to extend the battery life for the laptop.

Unless you have this battery module installed the error is completely normal.

I need to download drivers for my dell latitude to install my 2nd hard drive - module bay Hitachi dk23eb-40

Depending on the operating system that you are running on your computer you should not need to install drivers for the second hard drive. However you may just need to assign a drive letter to the second drive. The links below will help you do this.

Upgrade RAM in a Latitude D600. one bay seems to fail

The memory bay is a part of the motherboard. Try each stick in each bay to make sure that the problem is the motherboard itself. Sometimes memory is incompatible with a particular laptop. Sometimes there is a maximum allowable memory. The maximum for your PC is 2 GB.

D610 boot failure

Remove all drives, Memory and wireless cards, see if the indication changes. If no change, replace the motherboard. If they change, add memory back one module at a time, see if the system will post. If one does, then the other is bad.
