How to change speakers in your Ford vehicle (may work for other makes and...

In this short video I show how I replaced the terrible sounding 5X7 speakers in a Ford Contour. There's a reason these speakers sounded so bad. If you listen to mostly talk radio it probably doesn't matter as much but if you enjoy good sounding music it's usually a good idea, in most cars (unless yours sounds good to you or you already have a premium sound system), to upgrade the factory speakers with aftermarket ones. Age can be another reason it may be time to upgrade and these were almost 19 years old.

Sound does not work

hi welcome to fixya
try first to hook up the audio plug of your pc speaker system with in other audio jack in *********** board. then check also the audio label click the speaker icon in your monitor might be in mute option. if still doesn't work, click control panel and select audio devices then click hardware properties you will see all the audio driver. if none there might be a problem with the sound driver, you need to re install the sound driver in your motherboard to access sound option. hope this will help you thanks for consulting through fixya service good day.

If you haven't done already, then verify that zone 2 works without the selector. If the speakers definitely work and the zone output definitely works then the speaker selector must be the culprit! It's pretty difficult to mess up the wiring with speakers, as even if polarity is reversed, you will still hear something.

Just got speakers no sound computer says no auto device is hook up

You need to install the drivers for the AUDIO device.... not your speakers. Go to control panel... Device Manager and look at the list of devices that is your computer. There should be a multimedia device that you'll need to update the driver for. You can do have it find the device automatically online. If the automated way doesn't work, you'll need to know exactly what sound card/device that you have.

I'm trying to hook up my PC to my HD-TV using an HDMI cable but am getting a loud crackling sound through the speakers!

I have had this problem with my hp as well. Its a problem with the video drivers. The best solution is to go to the hp support website and update your video drivers to the latest version. If that doesn't work you should try a new hdmi cable. And if all else fails you can configure your audio to a different channel, like the speakers on your laptop or you can hook up some external speakers as well.

Have you looked at the manual?

The NEW thing doesn't work.

Does the subwoofer work for setup? That would certify the hardware and speaker definitions are ok.

The PC has the responsibility for defining and sending out something between headphone and full-blown 7.1 though the HDMI. Check your PC sound controls and the "Information on HDMI" section of the manual.

For the radio mode, probably the only analog stereo source you have, read up on the STRAIGHT decoding mode and Sound Field programs.
