Is the compressor running? How about the fan motor? Chck. those items first and when there be sure coil is clean. Now coil is clean, fan and compresor are running, then you may have leak on the system. Quik test, unplug frige from wall and plug it back after a few second, if compressor runs, you have a leak.

GE Profile Refridgerator side warm, freezer ok?

Fridge gets cold air from freezer to cool it. Your freezer is fine but not enough cold air is getting into fridge compartment. U have some dampers or louvers that direct air flow to fridge and if they are not set properly cooling will not be adequate. Check those out.

Freezer works but fridge remains warm.

The same fan that circulates air in the freezer also blows air in to the fridge. If you open the freezer door and hold the door switch closed you should hear the fan running. If not you have a failed motor or motor control. Look at the back wall of the freezer section and see if there is a heavy frost build up. If so. you have a defrost system problem. Please post back with what you find and with the complete model number and I will try to walk you through the steps of checking everything.

My refrigerator stopped getting cold, but the freezer side still works

There should be a vent with a fan between the freezer side and the fridge side. Make sure the vent is fully open and fan running ok

I have a side by side fridge and the freezer side just keeps on running like all. The motor is really hot and the floor under the fridge is too.

Sounds like the compressor starter is locked up and needs to be replaced. Or the thermostat is either stuck or the contacts have melted together and it will continue to run till replaced. You can unplug it for a while to see if cooling down will help but if not then you will have to use the plug as the on off switch till you get it replaced. Is the fridge cold? is there ice built up all over the coils, this also might cause the issue if the coils are froozen and the unit is running but not cooling. The freezer is what cools the fridge so if the fridge is not cool then there may be a problem with the coils.

What is the temperature suppose to be inside fridge?

fridge is supposed to be around 36-38 degrees freezer 0 to 10 depending on if your fridge area is not cold enough the freezer is the only side that actually gets cold and there is a fan located above the evaporator that pushes to cold air through a small door that opens and closes depending on how cold your unit is. If the unit gets to cold the door shuts not allowing any cold air to come into the fridgerator side. If you have any further questions message me back. My frige is not cold, just cool, turn the T stat to coldest & no good. The freezer seems fine & I looked in the back & the fan is running. It doesn't seem to be blowing cold air or...

Two thoughts. If the fan is running... and you can here it in the freezer when it is on. Then the fan is fine and it is the mixer control. IF the fan is not working, then fix the fan.

The mixer control is in the top of the fridge where the air comes out on the wall between the fridge and freezer.

I think maytag calls this a cold control / damper.

Basically it controls the air flow rate between the fridge and freezer. When it is opens it allows air from the freezer into the fridge and cools it off.

Hope this helps.

Frig side does not cool. freezer side cools

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper) between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

Fridge won't get cold

Check to make sure that the fan in the freezer is running whenever the compressor turns on to cool the unit down. If the fan's not going, warmer moist air from the fridge will make the air duct frost up. The fan needs to be running to blow the cold air into the fridge section.
