Dell latitude laptop-freezes after running for a few minutes/sometime on start-up/screen on but no response /fan stops running and nothing responds

Im assuming its a C64, these notebooks have overheating issues.

1. make sure the fan has room to breathe, and is clean of dust.

Sounds like your dealing with a software issue. Most likely a video driver. if there was a recent time that the machine worked, I'd run a system restore. Then look for what might have been installed that caused this problem so you can stay away from it.

Dell latitude d600- won't boot up!!!


Yes this can be a opverheating problem that's why sometimes it boots up, if the processor is not working fine because of overheating you check first the cooling system of your computer liek the fan if they are working fine because if the fan is not working the way it should be working oeverheating may occur and will result to this problem...

Screen tearing and system Crash


The graphics card of your laptop is malfunctioning. It has probably overheated sometime and got burned. Because of that, screen issues and crashes appear. Contact Dell about this issue, they might even fix it for free or low price if your laptop is still under warranty.

Sounds like the fan may be failing and need replacement. On a system that age, it is debatable whether it is worth fixing.
You can boot to he resource cd and run fan diags is you want to try and confirm

My D400 overheats and screen freezes when hooked


The biggest issue docking is airflow. With the system docked, airflow is restricted.

Might look at ways of improving airflow.

My Dell D610 starts and operates properly, but completely locks up after about 10-15 minutes. I let it cool, and it will start again. I have checked and the fan does run. I cleaned the area around the fan...

after you install it you can go into the settings and turn on the monitors for the cpu, gpu, ram, and sometimes the hard drive. you can turn on the fan monitors too to make sure they are working. you can control the fans as well. i use it on all my dell laptops. it its not freezing becuse of overheating then it might be the hard drive or you might need to reinstall windows

the light next to the Battery LED is the hard drive activity LED (HDD, Battery, Wifi, Bluetooth)

Off hand, I'd say overheating is a possibility so try using a can of compressed air to blow out the cooling vents and also run diagnostics on the cooling fan (Power plus Fn key to enter diags) If diags finds a hardware issue call Dell Tech

Flashing lock light then nothing!


Your laptop need to be cleaned and need a maintenance. Specially on CPU fan and heatsink. Bring your laptop on service technician, for repair and maintenance.
