WEP

  1. Connect a computer to any one of the four LAN ports of the Belkin wireless router.
  2. Open your web browser and type the router IP address of the router (by default, the address is http://192.168.2.1.) in the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
  4. Click Security under Wireless menu
  5. Under Security, Select 64 bit WEP (or 128 bit WEP).
  6. Select Key 1 and enter any 10 hexadecimal digits - any combination of 0-9, A-F (26 digits if you selected 128-bit as the encryption strength). You may also enter a pass phrase and have the router generate a key for you.
  7. Apply the settings. Please write down the key – You will need it later to configure your wireless computers with the same key.

Configuring WPA-PSK Encryption:

  3. Click Login on the top of the page to login to the router. By default the Password is left blank, click Submit.
  4. Click Security under Wireless menu.

  6. Select WPA2-PSK as your Authentication
  7. Select AES as the Encryption Technique.
  8. Enter a word or group of characters in the Password (PSK) box. The Pre-Shared Key must be 8 to 63 characters in length.
Note: The PSK (Pre-Shared Key) is case sensitive ("A" is different than "a")
  9. Click Apply changes to save the settings

Want to set up WEP encryption, but the router doesn't seem to accept it.

You have to use a static IP or PPPoE IP Address in order to enable this WEP function. Use the ASCII settings to enter text. Look at the restrictions noted.

If you got 169.X ip address, it means invalid IP address. Please check your DHCP server configuration and also try to make it static IP.

How to secure my network with the router

If your using a wireless router set a password key for your router's WPA(Wi-fi Protected Acces) or WEP(wired equivalent privacy). The WPA/WEP key is used to connect a computer to your network. This is to ensure that only allowed computers is connected to your network.

If your using a wired router, check your router configuration if there is an ACL(Access Control List) settings. Set first static IP addressing in your computers then enlist the IP addresses of your computers in your network, and turn off DHCP mode in your router. Now only IP addresses in the ACL settings will be allowed to your network.

Plug in the network cable first and make sure the following settings are correct:

    1. SSID is the same and set to broadcast
    2. You are using the same WPA AES password as the router (or WEP password if you are using WEP)
    3. The wireless antennae is connected
    4. The camera is located not to far from the router

After that, remove the network cable and restart your camera.

    Wireless connection on vista!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try checking if your pc is receiving a valid ip for ex. if your router start with a 192.x.x.x if your pc is really connected to your network its should also receive a ip of 192.x.x.x and if your network is unsecured and your pc is getting a 169.x.x.x ip you can try setting a static ip on your pc that's within the range of your router.
