  • anaconda86 May 11, 2010

Hello! I also have the same sound problem on my computer. I have been looking for a driver without any luck, since I m not an expert.

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Computer type: ACPI Multiprocessor PC

    Motherboard

    Processor Intel Pentium 4, 2800 MHz (14 x 200)

Motherboard name: Abit IS7/IS7-E/IS7-G (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 4 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)

Chipset on motherboard Intel Springdale i865PE

    Sound card: Realtek ALC650 @ Intel 82801EB ICH5 - AC'97 Audio Controller [A-2/A-3]

I hope that this is enough information to determine the required sound driver.

    Thanx

Your question was "tell me..how to find the audio divice driver".

The least you could do was to answer a very sensible question that will lead to determining where  your "audio divice driver" can be based.

Outright rating of "Not Helpful" to those willing to provide assistance is probably the reason why you've "been working on my com long time".

And I expect you will still be "working...long time" before anybody else on this site will help you.

If you have the cd installer of your pc or laptop present OS ( operating system ), try to explore the cd and you will find the sound driver under utility folder. although sound driver is an independent program/application, it usually comes together with OS installer. it's hard to find and download some sound drivers that is compatible with your OS unless you know exactly which driver it is. i hope it will help.

Here's an easier solution. Click on My PC - System Info - Device Driver -Sound Card. Right click to view properties then update driver. Make sure your connected to the internet so it can search onlnie for you. Restart your pc. Alternatively, if your pc has onboard sound it will be on the disc as advised above or on the back up.

Audio divice

Did you previously have Vista on the computer?
If so the driver CD may have the Vista audio driver on the CD, you need a XP version of the audio driver.
You need to download the XP version of the driver from the MSI WEB site, make sure you delect the correct model of your motherboard and audio card
If you are having trouble finding the audio driver try a these WEB sites :-

The sound device is software usually located on the mother bord install disk. else see what kind of sound the board takes and got to their , for instance realtec, sound company, web site and download the audio device and the driver , if you don't have the MB CD.
