Please check and ensure that your contacts have the country code attached to the beginning of their cell number(s).

E.g NZVF (+64) 21XXXXXX or
(0064) 21XXXXXXX and not 021XXXXXXX
Keep me informed with your progress.

How do I delete contacts from sim card

copy the contacts on the sim card to a sd card in the phone. If you don't have one, get one and put it in the phone. Set up the memory in the phone to both sim and memory card. Copy the contacts onto the memory card. Remove the memory card and then go about deleting the contact list in the phone. Put the memory card back in the phone and set the memory in the phone touse the memory card only...not the sim. You're done.

MODEL NOKIA 6021 CONTACTS STORED IN PHONE MEMORY DELETED BY MISTAKE HOW CAN I RETRIEVE IT?

H,

Once you delete the phone numbers from phone then it is not possible to retrive the phone numbers.

If you saved the numbers in SIM card then you can copy to phone memory.

To copy contacts from SIM card to phone,Contacts > Copy. You can copy names and phone numbers from the phone contact memory to the SIM card memory or vice versa.

Thank You

I need to copy my contact from my pc to N97, ive been trying to copy them but i never found them on the phone.

First copy required contacts on Memory Card "Others" folder through card reader or through data cable.
After that just Open all Contacts and Select
Options -> Goto Copy Option then you will see 3 options like
"To SIM Directory"
"To memory Card"
"From Memory Card"

Select from memory card, You can see the copying contacts from memory card.

Thats it....

Hope this information is helpful to you.

How do i copy all my contacts to my sim card?

Go to your contacts management in your phone . Hope this helps!

Contacts Management
Menu 8.5
This menu allows you to copy all of the
information from your SIM card, e.g. name,
handset number, etc. to your handset. If
a name is duplicated during the copying
operation, the information is also duplicated.
You can copy the entry from the SIM card to
the phone memory. You can copy the entry
from the handset memory to the SIM card (not
all the data will be copied).
You can delete all entries in the SIM card
or the Handset. Press the [END] key to
return to standby mode.
Service

good luck!

Your memory is not inserted properly. Take it out carefuly, and check if inserted correctly. If problem still there format the memocard - it will also delete its content.

I have a nokia n95-1. I have copied sim contacts to the phone which have duplicated when I synchronised with Outlook. I can cope with that. What I dont understand is why the numbers of any of my contacts...

When you receive a phone call, the phone will look up in it's address book to see if it can find a match for that number, if there is only one match, great, it will display it, if there is more than one match, it would be difficult for the phone to 'guess' at who is calling, so instead it just displays the number.

First make sure you do not have duplicate Entries for the same number.
I would suggest you to do the following:
  1. Make sure you have copied all the contacts from your SIM to Phone
  2. Delete all the Entries from your SIM by selecting them at once
  3. Make sure you do not have any Duplicate Entry in the phone book
  4. If you suspect having duplicate entries, Sync. the phone with Outlook and search for Duplicate entries to delete them

Please make sure you have selected the default memory as SIM and Phone. If you have stored your contacts in the Address book of your Phone memory and selected the Sim card memory as the default phone book it is obvious that when receiving a call your phone will try to look for that number in the default memory selected by you or vise-versa.
Go to phonebook > Settings > and select the memory in use as Phone and SIM

Hope it is not confusing

Please get back for any clarification

Thank you for using Fixya
