Where is the valet button located on the unit?

is the message bank full? did you try a hard reboot?

what wires is for rhe siren on my 1400xp python?

I believe you press the lock and unlock at the same time.

turn ignition on and within 10sec push the valet switch once then push and hold again. the siren will chirp once then push the lock button on the transmitter and the siren should beep once then let go of the valet switch and turn ignition off and remote should function properly

Sounds like you have a bad remote, bad battery in the remote, or it needs to be reprogramed to the alarm. If the alarm has been set with the remote, it will need to be disarmed with the remote as well, unlocking the door with the key and getting in, will set off the viper. If you know where you valet switch for the alarm is(small black push button), just turn the key forward till everything on the dash lights up, push the valet switch for about one second and let go. The alarm should shut off in a couple seconds. This will allow you to drive the car until you get you remote checked out.

I had the same problem, then I downloaded the user manual from the Directed Electronics site. It seems with most of the remotes (1400xp included) all you have to do is press the AUX button and then the Lock/Unlock button. This puts it into Silent Mode and no more chirping late at night or early in the morning, but you still have the ability to have it chirp when you need to by only pressing the Lock/Unlock button. Hope that helps.
